Here’s what we learned: 🔑 Social prescribing focuses on what matter to us, instead of what's wrong with us. 🔑 Innovative upstream approaches to healthcare are needed, and social prescribing is growing, in many forms. 🔑 To be effective, social supports must be relevant and meaningful to the person being supported. We need to talk about young people and vaping. Many thanks to Medway Council for giving me more opportunities to share emerging findings from our research at their event for healthcare colleagues last week. I could, and will, work on this for a long time to come - while the work isn’t yet complete we know very clearly that there is an information gap to fill. Young people need us all to talk about vaping with them as it is something that is around them today, and everyday. Which means we need to tool ourselves up to be able to talk about it so they are empowered to make informed decisions. Despite the field’s continuous innovations and potential to improve patient outcomes, precision medicine remains out of reach for many patients. The FT3 community is working to accelerate efforts to address care-level barriers across countries with varying levels of availability. This involves implementing the right diagnostic and treatment options at the right time, within a care process centered on Shared Decision Making practices for personalized care, putting the patient at the center. Healthcare professionals (HCPs) play a crucial role in this effort and require support. We are currently seeking to understand the specific support needs along the patient pathway. Early insights reveal several key issues: - Challenges with staying current with the latest innovations and clinical guidelines. - Difficulty in applying clinical guidelines, especially since they are often organ-based rather than tissue-based. - Lack of integrated approaches to run programs that address the diverse needs of healthcare team members, fostering better collaboration amongst them for improved patient outcomes.
