I'm thrilled to announce the publication of my latest research paper, "Fluoroalcohols for chemical modification of biomolecules" in Tetrahedron Chem! 🧪✨ In this review, we explore the emerging role of fluoroalcohols, like trifluoroethanol (TFE) and hexafluoroisopropanol (HFIP), in bioconjugation. These solvents are making waves in chemical modification processes for biomolecules, including polypeptides, nucleic acids, and saccharides. Their unique properties, such as proton shuttling, reversible adduct formation, and compatibility with electrochemistry and photochemistry, are driving innovation in the field.
