The Raven is a snitch to some animals 😂 Ravens and wolves share a remarkable and unique partnership in the wild, one that showcases the intelligence and social adaptability of both species. This relationship, known as mutualism, allows both animals to benefit from each other's strengths in ways that support their survival. Ravens, being highly intelligent and social birds, often follow wolf packs on their hunts. When wolves take down large prey, such as elk or deer, the ravens feed on the remains. This provides the ravens with a reliable and substantial food source that they may not be able to obtain alone.👀 But the partnership goes beyond just scavenging; ravens actually help wolves locate prey. With their keen eyesight and aerial vantage point, they can spot potential prey or danger from far away, sometimes using specific calls that wolves may recognize and respond to. Interestingly, wolves seem to tolerate the presence of ravens around their kills, despite their usual territorial nature. In some cases, wolves and ravens have even been observed eating side by side, demonstrating a high level of trust. This is the best collaboration ever between common animals I have heard in recent years. 👌 Credited: Sciencereverse4 #wolfpack #wolfpack #natureismagic #partnerships #dogsarelife

Here are 6 things that you might not know about American Foxhounds: 1️⃣Presidential Pooches: George Washington, the first President of the United States, was a big fan of American Foxhounds and even bred them at Mount Vernon. 2️⃣Musical Howl: American Foxhounds are known for their unique, melodic howl, which they use to communicate with their owners and other dogs, especially during hunts. 3️⃣High Energy: These dogs are incredibly energetic and love to run. They can cover large distances quickly, making them excellent companions for active families or individuals. 4️⃣Gentle Giants: Despite their hunting prowess, American Foxhounds are known for their gentle and friendly nature, making them great with children and other pets. 5️⃣Distinctive Ears: Their long, floppy ears aren't just cute—they help stir up scents from the ground while they’re tracking, enhancing their excellent sense of smell. 6️⃣Low Maintenance: American Foxhounds have short coats that are easy to groom, requiring minimal maintenance compared to other breeds. 7️⃣Pack Animals: These dogs have a strong pack mentality, making them very social and often happiest when they have company, whether it's with other dogs or their human family. The AVA Digital Awards is an international competition that recognizes outstanding work by creative professionals involved in the concept, direction, design and production of media. Many people made this project possible including Colby Kerber, Andrew Vavra, Bob St. Pierre, Ashley Chance, Dan Rippl, Patrick Bentz, Andy Doak from NORTH AMERICAN VERSATILE HUNTING DOG ASSOCIATION, Durrell Smith, Cayla Bendel with North Dakota Game and Fish Department and the Capital City Ladybirds (all-women's chapter) of Pheasants Forever, Peggy Farrell with University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Todd Waldron with Ruffed Grouse Society | American Woodcock Society, Trey Curtiss with Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, Keng Yang and the Yang family, Amanda Dyer and the Dyer family, Chuck Duggan and the entire Duggan family at Hollywood Farms in GA, Ruben Mata and the Mata family in CA, Amelia Pruiett...and so many more. Here's a short intro to the final product which is an official Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever educational film series. It's built around the stories of five hunters from across the country. Supporting these stories are a dozen skill-based educational videos that will give anyone a comprehensive introduction to hunting upland birds. Dogs are a fundamental element in the balance of the ecosystem in #TorresdelPaine. Maremma dogs scare pumas away from the herds, allowing the sheep culture to continue to develop in the region. In the following video we tell you their story, Happy #InternationalDogDay! https://hubs.la/Q02HhMNg0

I regularly put together breed profiles because understanding your breed, or cross breed potential behaviours is how we live well with our dogs. They don’t all have exactly the same needs. When people research a breed they usually look for things that support their desire to have the breed/ cross breed, often ignoring the not so good stuff. Most websites don’t include this because these sites are designed to encourage people to get the breed. If you know anyone planning to get a Beagle, please share this article for the good and the darker side! lol https://lnkd.in/eYQT3yCx

The Black-legged Seriema (Chunga burmeisteri) bird is native to South America. This bird is noted for its dark, blackish legs and more elusive nature. It prefers drier scrublands, savannas, and open woodlands in regions such as Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay, and southern Brazil. Black-legged Seriemas are known to be ground-dwelling birds that can run swiftly. The Black-legged Seriema has a sleek, mostly grayish-brown body with a pale face and a slender beak, which is usually light in color. It has blackish or dark legs, distinguishing it from the red-legged variety. Black-legged Seriemas are carnivorous, feeding on small animals, insects, and sometimes even snakes, which they capture and kill with quick strikes.

Our Mid-Atlantic Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers is taking action to protect Maryland’s public lands, wildlife, and outdoor heritage. We’ve just sent 53 letters to Governor Wes Moore, Maryland Senators, Representatives, and key State Senators/Delegates whose districts would be impacted by the proposed Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project. In these letters, we urge our elected officials to consider the long-term impacts on fish and wildlife habitats, public access to public lands, and hunting and fishing opportunities. We advocate for a “no net loss” principle—ensuring that if public lands are impacted, they’re replaced with lands of equal or greater value for future generations. Our message is clear: while we recognize the importance of strengthening our electrical grid, it must be done responsibly, with a commitment to safeguarding the natural resources that define our outdoor heritage. Write your Maryland state representative and join us in standing up for our public lands, waters, and wildlife. Let’s ensure that the voices of sportsmen, women, and outdoor enthusiasts are heard in the decision-making process. Backcountry Hunters & Anglers
