Do not build your business around discounts and sales If everytime you ask your audience to buy from you is when you are offering a sale or discount, dont be surprised when you ask them to pay full price, you get crickets. You are training then to only buy when you have a sale or discount. Now having a discount or sale is not a bad thing but it should be used in moderation and not every Monday morning. E.g. Special holidays, clearance sales etc. In fact if you are doing discounts, you need to make sure that you can still hit your financial goal. I spent a week debating with a service provider why their service will not be viable for my business. They showed me so much references why it will work for me. I gone through all of them with so much patience and care, because someone is trying to help me out. In that process I figured out the major difference between my business model and the business model of the reference company they have shared. I explained them with complete respect for their service and the service provider accepted my views on it and we ended this long conversation with a thank you. Emily's goal was to attract new clients and demonstrate her expertise. However, Emily soon realized that: - 90% of recipients didn't respond or engage with her report - 5% asked for more free services - Only 5% converted into paying clients Emily's mistake?
