𝗨𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗩𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗱𝘆𝗻𝗲 𝗩𝗟𝗣-𝟭𝟲 𝗨𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀 Ouster has officially issued an "End of Life" notification for the Velodyne VLP-16 lidar sensor family, including the VLP-16, VLP-16-LW, and VLP-16 Hi-Res models. That means production of these sensors will be discontinued. The VLP-16 has been a trusted and widely-used lidar sensor for years, but the components needed to manufacture it are becoming increasingly scarce. However, this transition offers a chance to explore newer, more advanced solutions like the Ouster OS lidar sensor line. Key dates for the VLP-16 transition: - New VLP-16 orders can be placed with Visimind until October 15, 2024. - Technical support will be offered until the end of 2026. From microns to mile.. SICK distance and LiDAR sensors have it all! In the video, you will see an example how #LRS4000 LiDAR sensor is used in a complex yet critical application. Use case: Detecting remaining twist locks on the underside of containers, while these are being lifted or set down. SICK virtually recreated the application with a model of the high-resolution #LRS4000.
