DID YOU KNOW? CONSTANT YELLING at your child, week in week out, year after year, is child abuse, more specifically its emotional abuse, and toxic parenting. Its also bullying. HOW DOES YELLING AFFECT A CHILD’S BRAIN? Yelling and other harsh parenting techniques can change how a child’s brain develops. This results in humans processing negative information more quickly and thoroughly than positively. TRAUMA When a harsh environment triggers our fear as children, physical reactions can cause traumatic stress. We may hear our parent’s voices even when they are not physically present, influencing how we react to anything that makes us feel threatened, from loud and angry voices to dismissive gestures. Children who are constantly yelled at are more likely to have behavioural problems, anxiety, depression, stress, and other emotional issues, similar to children who are hit or spanked frequently. HOW TO REPORT CHILD ABUSE Reporting an abusive parent to the local authority is how to start helping the victim - the child. https://lnkd.in/euEiFtr2 www.familylawclinic.co.uk

Perception. Seems to be the topic of the week. Hard is only in our minds. I have been learning not to use the word "struggle" in my vocabulary whether in my mind or spoken. Even the word 'task' is one I am working on removing as it conjures up negative emotions of effort. Effort on it's own is good, but not when tied to 'extreme'. As I have stated in past postings, the words effort, hard, work, struggle are just words until we add a negative connotation to them. Work is just work. No more no less. Yes, physical work can be strenuous, but it is still just work. Make your life easier and look at things/work/people just as they are without judgement. #work #hard #1week1thing
