This ends finally... Yet another Friday ends and conclude the work week. But before biding a goodbye to Friday, I wanted to take a moment and share some unique ways to make Friday's energizing. Implementing these strategies not only boosts morale but also promotes a culture of well-being that resonates throughout the entire company. Here’s how: 1. Fun Fitness Challenges: Kick off the day with light, inclusive fitness challenges. 2. Breakfast Club: Once a month, host a 'Healthy Breakfast Club'. 3. Mental Health Hour: Encourage a 'no meetings' hour where employees can engage in activities that reduce stress. 4. Wellness Workshops: Organize monthly workshops or talks on topics such as nutrition, stress management, etc. 5. End Early Fridays: If possible, close the office an hour early. By implementing these initiatives we'll not only promote a healthier workforce But we will build a more engaging work environment. What do you think? Have you tried any of these strategies in your workplace? Let’s make every Friday a fantastic day!

I’m talking about Happy High Performance at Ørsted. What truly makes a good workday? In leadership groups the focus is often long-term goals and 5-10 year visions. But what about an average Friday? How do we tackle ad-hoc meetings flying in from all directions? How do we manage inbox tsunamis that drain our time? How do we regain control of our time and our workdays? This is exactly what we’re focusing on in this session - setting up a rock-solid foundation to handle the everyday chaos. With the right foundation, we’re empowered to make better choices about how we spend our time. Have a Happy Friday out there - make it time well spent 😉 ----------------------------------------- ✨ I’m Marie Litrup, founder and owner of timewellspent 🌏 New ways of working for a sustainable future work life 🎤 Providing training, video content, consultancy and keynotes I post about productivity, leadership, mental health and happiness 🔔 Ring the bell on my profile for future updates 🤝 Happy to connect

A Slice of Nostalgia: Bringing Thanksgiving to Indian Workplaces Do you remember those festive family gatherings, where gratitude was shared as effortlessly as food and laughter? While Thanksgiving might not be rooted in Indian traditions, its essence—gratitude and togetherness—feels strikingly familiar. It reminds us of the bonds we cherish and the simple joys of acknowledging them. But why reserve this warmth for our homes alone? Imagine weaving this sentiment into our workplaces, transforming them into spaces of gratitude and nostalgia. Here are a few ideas to spark a uniquely Indian Thanksgiving celebration at your office: 🍂 Thali of Thanks: Host a traditional Indian-style thanksgiving lunch with regional specialties. From fluffy puris and spicy curries to piping hot samosas, celebrate the diversity of food and the team that makes every day a feast of collaboration. 🍂 Gratitude Rangoli: Instead of traditional motifs, design a rangoli with words of appreciation and team achievements. Each color can represent a milestone or a shared memory. 🍂 Story Circle: Indians have a knack for storytelling. Set up a session where colleagues share what they’re grateful for—be it a project milestone, a supportive teammate, or a chai break that sparked an idea. 🍂 Chai Pe Charcha of Gratitude: Bring teams together over tea and pakoras, evoking the comfort of monsoon evenings at home. Pair it with a quick "thank you" round to spread warmth. 🍂 Photo Collages and Nostalgia Boards: Use workplace memories—pictures of team outings, festivals, or late-night brainstorming sessions—to create a wall of cherished moments. Thanksgiving doesn’t need to be a Western import; it can be beautifully reimagined to suit our culture, where gratitude has always been a way of life. Let this day be a reason to pause, connect, and celebrate the relationships that make your workplace more than just an office. What’s your idea of an office Thanksgiving? Would it be food, laughter, or those chai breaks that feel like home? https://frutta.in/

🎄✨ Holiday Laughter Alert! 🎤✨ As we roll into the holiday season, I want to pause and reflect on the joy, creativity, and occasional snort-laughs I’ve had the privilege to share as a facilitator and speaker. My mission? To turn team-building from “mandatory fun” into genuinely joyful connections, using humor as the glue that holds creativity, bonding, and well-being together. Whether it's a room full of CEOs, tech innovators, or HR wizards, I aim to light up faces and minds with the power of laughter. And let’s face it, after the year we've all had, don’t we all deserve to end meetings with smiles instead of sighs? So, this holiday season, my wish for you is simple: 🌟 More laughter in your life (the kind that makes your sides hurt). 🌟 More creativity in your work (because spreadsheets don’t spark joy). 🌟 More connection with your teams (because bonding is better than buffering). Happy Holidays, LinkedIn family! May your days be merry, bright, and full of belly laughs! If your 2024 plans involve teambuilding or workshops, let’s make them memorable for all the right reasons. Here’s to a year of smiles, solutions, and success (and maybe a little pizza)! 🍕 #HappyHolidays #LaughterIsTheBestStrategy #FacilitatorLife #HR #CEO #business #workplace #speaker #innovation #solution #smile

Such an important reminder as we dive into the new year. Rest isn’t just about taking breaks—it’s about creating balance, looking after ourselves, and being intentional with our time. Whether it’s a quiet moment to breathe or a more planned recharge, small steps can make a big difference. Let’s make 2025 the year we prioritise our well-being, even amidst busy schedules. 💜
Many of us will have headed back to work this week. Or, we may have been working all over the festive period. You might be feeling rested from a break, or already feeling the strain of work and the demands of our schedules. As the new year starts to ramp up it's a good time to take stock of how we can look after our approach to rest and get into good habits for the year ahead. Even on busy days, it's possible to find some moments of peace. It could be something small like resting your eyes after looking at a screen all day, or having a lie down with a cup of tea after a day on the move. If you can, try to weave in different kinds of rest throughout your week—whether it’s a few quiet moments or a more intentional break—so that comfort and relaxation are always just around the corner. 💜

For many of us, the start of a new year means heading back to the daily grind—or continuing through the festive season if we didn’t get a break. Whether you’re feeling refreshed or already feeling the pressure of busy schedules, this is the perfect time to review how you rest and rejuvenate. Even on the most hectic days, there are ways to sneak in moments of calm—turning away from your screen for a short pause, savoring a hot drink while you clear your thoughts, or taking a brief lie-down when you can. Make it a priority to weave in these mini-breaks or bigger intentional downtime sessions throughout your week, so that renewal and comfort are always within reach. #NewYear #RestAndRecharge #WorkLifeBalance #ExpressInternational #Guyana

What did you do for lunch today? According to Gallup, worker stress has remained at record high levels since the world changed. So how we spend our downtime at work is so important! Are you ready to maximize your midday break and bring a burst of joy into your workday? At Joyworks, we believe that lunchtime at work is a golden opportunity to recharge and refresh. Here's five creative ways to make the most out of your lunch break: 1. Skill Building: Take 20 minutes to learn a new skill or improve an existing one. Whether it's a new language, micro-course learning , continuous growth is key! I love Duolingo APP and after my recent trip to Spain. 2. Creative Breaks: Try doodling, writing, or knitting, planning a dream holiday that you’d like to have or a place you’ve never visited . Get your imagination going! Creative activities can rejuvenate your mind and spark new ideas. 3. Power Naps: A quick 15-20 minute nap can do wonders for your productivity and mood. Find a quiet space, close your eyes, and recharge. Ok, this idea usually gets a laugh -but if you can’t have a nap think about how and where you can rest and recharge. Rest is gold. I love getting my eye mask on and doing a 10-15 minute Yoga Nidre from You Tube – research shows it’s like having a 2 hour sleep! 4. Networking Lunches: Invite a colleague or someone from a different department or you met networking to lunch. Even better if weather allows that it’s outside. Building relationships within your company or for your business can lead to new collaborations and insights. 5. Volunteer Virtually: Spend some time on a virtual volunteering project. Helping others can boost your sense of purpose and bring joy to your day. I am benefiting enormously from someone who is doing just that! Or you can bring Joyworks In to your organisation! Our lunchtime events are so popular, and we can deliver virtually or face to face! My favourite tweet about our lunchtime sessions was from the Cabinet office in London from the wonderful Abbi Peel, Senior Strategy, Policy and Engagement lead in Digital Identity ‘I am still buzzing and so is the building’ We are super excited to be delivering two Joyworks events during lunchtime for our corporate client next month. This is the perfect time to harness joy and see colleagues in a completely new light! Strengthening relationships with fun ensures staff feel more focused, creative, and productive for the rest of the day with an unforgettable memory ! Contact me on sharon@joyworks.o.uk to hear about our choices! All events are firmly based in latest scientific research -an absolute hoot- leaving your staff or colleagues on cloud nine! At Joyworks, we’re all about creating change through joy. What could you do differently? Simply eating lunch away from the desk is a start. Right? The wee things are never the wee things and can make a big difference to your day. #Joyworks #WorkplaceJoy #LunchtimeTransformation
