Exploring the Intersection of Academics and Politics As an academic, I’ve always been fascinated by the intricate dance between theory and practice in the political arena. From dissecting the dimensions of political discontent to understanding the impact of politicians’ motivations, our research sheds light on the very fabric of democracy. The value of academic insights extends beyond ivory towers. By bridging theory with policymaking, we contribute to informed decisions, innovative solutions, and data-driven governance. 🌐 Let’s continue this dialogue, exchange ideas, and shape the future of politics together. #Academics #Politics #ResearchMatters #Policymaking #Democracy #science #future Department for Science, Innovation and Technology 10 Downing Street European Science Foundation European Commission U.S. Department of State

Such a great piece by Lisa Bates challenging the way housing and urban policy researchers think about access to opportunity and segregation: "This body of work is devoted to addressing the changes that Black people need to make in order to “achieve” greater integration, to lift up the socioeconomic advancement of their families. It is focused almost entirely on the people with the least power and resources as the agents of achieving spatial and racial equity."

When viewpoint diversity and constructive disagreement are the norm on campus, shout-downs and de-platforming aren't. HxA's President John Tomasi recently spoke at an event event titled “The Role of Universities in Democracy," where he described witnessing an erosion of nuanced thinking in campus dialogue. Do you feel that your university or college is properly addressing these issues? #AcademicFreedom #InstitutionalNeutrality #EducationReform #FreeSpeech #Educationquotes #Academicnews
