In the Philippines, there remains a significant gap in agricultural data. At PhilSEED, we recognize the crucial role data plays in guiding effective interventions and making informed decisions. From the outset of our first community initiative, our team has been intentional about data collection and validation, even as we handle these processes manually at this stage. Soon, we will launch an Integrated Farming System (IFS) to enhance implementation, monitoring, and impact evaluation. #AgriTech #Innovation #PhilSEED #Farmers #Poverty #Cacao #PhilippineCacao #ADFI #PovertyAlleviation #Resilience #SDGs #Philippines #Farming #EquitableFarming #Community #ASEAN #Agriculture #Innovation #ResilientFarming

This essay, “Scaling Local Food Economies: How Illinois Can Lead the Way,” looks at the ways farm credit services could bring billions of new non-federal dollars into local and regional food systems. The effort could help new farmers start operations and boost conservation agriculture. Agroecology + Innovation Matters applauds all efforts to make the farm economy more resilient and waterways cleaner. Please share the positive impacts of conservation agriculture. https://lnkd.in/g2XzJ9m9 cc: Bob Benenson #AIMillinois #TakeAIM #conservation #illinoisagriculture #sustainablefarming #regenerativeagriculture #regenerativefarming #regenerativefarm #agvocacy #agriculture #farmer #illinois #farmersofillinois #sustainability #covercrops #soilhealth #farming #farm #agriculturelife #conservationchampions

Tomorrow is World Oceans Day. On this World Oceans Day, we note the work being done by Illinois farmers implementing conservation agriculture practices in line with goals to cut back on nutrient loads into our waterways as laid out by the Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy. The Agroecology + Innovation Matters initiative thanks all you resilient producers who are putting in the extra effort to build healthier soil, reduce nutrient runoff and erosion, conserve natural resources, and sequester carbon. Please share the positive impacts of conservation agriculture. 📍 Matopo #LookandLearn Hand in Hand Zimbabwe partnered with Matopo Research Institute for an organized look and learn tour for Bulilima and Nkayi entrepreneurs in Matopo. The tour aimed at providing practical exposure to small livestock production, aquaculture farming, and fodder farming using Cactus plants on dry land. This initiative is particularly beneficial to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as it promotes the use of indigenous varieties that are well-suited to local climatic conditions and resilient to climate change. The Matopo Research Institute emphasizes the importance of indigenous breeds, which require fewer external resources, making them ideal for sustainable agricultural practices. This approach supports local farmers in adapting to environmental challenges while enhancing food security. The knowledge gained from this tour will aid in developing sustainable agricultural practices for entrepreneurs, contributing positively towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 1 (No Poverty), 2 (Zero Hunger), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), 13 (Climate Action), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Agricultural Research Development and Advisory Services (ARDAS) under the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Resettlement and Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) also participated in the event to support and reinforce the concepts

A study from Iowa State University tried to figure out why edge-of-field practices have been remarkably underutilized even though they can effectively reduce nutrient delivery. Saturated buffers, bioreactors, and water quality enhancement wetlands can significantly improve water quality by reducing nutrient loads while also enhancing wildlife habitat. Iowa, the same as Illinois, is reaching out to farmers and landowners as Midwestern states are trying to implement the Nutrient Reduction Strategy. Agroecology + Innovation Matters thanks the resilient producers who are putting in the needed effort to build healthier soil and protect our waterways. Please share the positive impacts of conservation agriculture. https://lnkd.in/gttPAaDf #AIMillinois #TakeAIM #conservation #illinoisagriculture #sustainablefarming #regenerativeagriculture #regenerativefarming #regenerativefarm #agvocacy #agriculture #farmer #illinois #farmersofillinois #sustainability #covercrops #soilhealth #farming #farm #agriculturelife #conservationchampions

🌱 Empowering Communities Through Conservation Agriculture! 🌱 I am thrilled to share the recent workshops conducted by Foundations for Farming Zimbabwe , in partnership with My Trees Trust , in Hurungwe rural communities. These sessions focused on #conservation #agriculture practices that are essential for building #resilience, especially in the face of an El Nino induced drought in the preceding farming season. By promoting #sustainable #farming techniques, we are not only enhancing soil health but also ensuring that our farmers can adapt to unpredictable weather patterns 🌞🌦 . Farmers where enlightened 💡on the innovative #Pfumvudza/ Intwasa 4 concept which incorporates sources of 💚 starch 🌽 💚 protein 🥜 💚 oil 🌻 💚 fodder 🌿 This approach lays a critical foundation for food security, enabling communities and their livestock to thrive even in challenging conditions. Together, we are fostering a culture of sustainability and education 📝, equipping our farmers with the tools they need to secure their #livelihoods and contribute to a healthier planet. 🌍 Let’s continue to support these vital initiatives that empower our communities and protect our future! 💚 #ConservationAgriculture #FoodSecurity #Sustainability #CommunityEmpowerment #MyTreesTrust #FoundationsForFarming

I walked inside the hall with a scripted cloth of my blue collar job FARMER PROMISE AGRO SERVICE,ready to teach, share ideas, collaborate and connect with people only to see smiling face with lot of questions in their mind like taproots of a palm tree looking for space in the soil to dominate. For the world to experience peace and stability,we must embrace sustainable Agricultural development in Forestry, Extension service,Crop science and innovation, processing and Animal husbandry. Are Farmers and AGROPRENEURS POOR?If you SOW, you REAP. Farmers reaps bountifully when the define the reasons why they sow. The Human Development (THD) over the years of its working culture has always focused farmers by way of farming to establish ecological balance towards promoting sustainable livelihoods with just a stable society. Activities like vegetable cultivation, promotion of millets, Zero-Budget Natural Farming practices, Institutional delivery mechanisms through support services, Indigenous farming, marketing of farm produces and establishing linkages with external resource agencies etc. Glimpse of such interventions (in picture) that mostly being done hand-in-hand with the stakeholders of the programme operational pockets. #farmingcommunity #sustainablelivelihoods #ZBNF #asocietyforall #creatingsafetynet #ajustsociety #farmculture #institutionallinkage #deliverymechanism #supportservices #promotionofmillets #indigeneousfarming #aromaticpaddy #FPO #marketingstrategy #networklinkage #benefitsforlife #FoodOdisha #krushibibhag #thehumandevelopment #cdaokalahandi
