The Sands Worth Billions ⬇️ This report discusses corporate strategies and outlines South Africa's commercial opportunity. Focusing on mineral sands, it explores the types of minerals found in the sands, uses & who derives profits from them The sand on the West Coast is rich in zircon, ilmenite and rutile, the so-called heavy minerals. Hence, the sands are referred to as mineral sands or heavy mineral sands. Read here: https://buff.ly/425F2EN #KZG #HMS

Global importance of the potential raw material resource in Greenland? The excellent review by GEUS from last year (https://lnkd.in/dw78NXYR) highlights Greenland's significant potential as a source of Critical Raw Materials, focusing on areas like Gardar, East Greenland, southern West Greenland, and North-West Greenland. Notable deposits include Ilímaussaq, Malmbjerg, Sarfartoq, and the Thule black sands province. The review underscores the possibility of undiscovered deposits in underexplored regions, presenting opportunities for critical minerals essential for various industries, including rare earth elements, lithium, molybdenum, platinum group metals, titanium, vanadium, tungsten, tin, antimony, and phosphorus. In our view, the raw material resource potential in Greenland could hold significant future global importance for various reasons that impact us all: Follow us: https://lnkd.in/dZKutJR9. Read more:

Amid complex global geopolitics and dynamic supply and demand factors, key government policies are reshaping rare earth supply chains. With both mining and refining currently heavily concentrated in China, the EU, US and their trading partners are seeking to build alternative supply chains to diversify sourcing and ensure the security and sustainability of these critical minerals. Demand could reach 153,000 metric tons of rare earth oxides (REOs) by 2040, a 65.5% increase over 2023, according to the International Energy Agency's (IEA's) stated policies scenario. #RearEarthOxides #GeoPolitics #SupplyChain #SecuritySustainability

Find out the compositions of seawater brines. In Sea4Value project we are using various technologies to enhance circular economy of brines
Did you know that seawater contains many different minerals and metals - so it could also be used as an important source for these raw materials? For example in Oran, Algeria, 1 liter of seawater brine collected from the Mediterranian Sea contains 1.6 g of Magnesium, 0.5 g of Calcium, 5.9 mg of Boron and 200 mikrogramms of Lithium. However, the salt concentrations vary across the globe. That's why we collected around 150 samples from seawater and brines worldwide to analyse and compare their contents of 30 different elements. You can find the results in our "Brines and Seawater Catalogue" on our website hhttps://lnkd.in/e4P7vcMA (Free registration is required to access this database)

Did you know mineral sands have concentrations of important minerals such as rutile, ilmenite, monazite, zircon, and garnet? Other heavy minerals found in mineral sands include magnetite, staurolite, sapphire and staurolite. In Australia, three main elements extracted from mineral sand deposits are titanium from ilmenite and rutile sands, zirconium from zircon sands, and thorium from monazite. CEO Melanie Leighton sits down with Proactive’s Tylah Tully to discuss the continuous gold mineralisation the company has confirmed at its Dynasty Gold Project in Ecuador. The mineralisation extends over a 9-kilometre-long corridor at the project, where Titan is advancing toward a resource update. The company has also significantly expanded the Iguana prospect, extending its geochemical footprint to 4 kilometres by 1.5 kilometres. The prospect includes high-grade surface results, with grades of up to 21.4 g/t gold and 14.1 g/t silver from trenching at Iguana South, outside the current resource estimate of 700,000 ounces of gold and 4.8 million ounces of silver. Leighton highlighted the success of systematic exploration, identifying new targets with strong potential to expand the current Dynasty resource of 3.1 million ounces of gold and 22 million ounces of silver. Indicator Minerals in Porphyry Copper Deposits or Epithermal Systems. These indicator minerals are very important for the overall aspect of fertility in porphyry copper deposits. There are several key factors that we use to determine if an element is a key indicator, such as oxidation state, temperature of the forms, water pressure, metals, chlorite, sulfur in the case of apatites, and there are many different minerals and key minerals that have been investigated in the last 10 to 20 years. #Exploration #MineralExploration #Copper #MininginPeru #PorphyryPotential #MiningExploration #EpithermalMineralization #PorphyryPotential #GeologicalPotential #MineralizationStudy #Epithermalsystem #lowsulfidation #highsulfidation

It was reported on Thursday that the Skouries gold mine in northern Greece is claiming to have a proven deposit of 740,000 tons of gold and copper. It is not clear how much of this is gold, but all the gold extracted in the whole of our existence is only about 230,000 tons. Not only could this mega-bonanza wreak economic havoc, turning gold from scarce-and-expensive to abundant-and-cheap, but also environmental havoc. Extracting a single gram of gold from a mine produces 6 tons of slurry/waste. A tonne is ONE MILLION GRAMS. Extraction is proposed to begin in 2025.
