Take action for well-being and combat stress 🔬 Stress is a natural reaction, both biological and psychological, that the body triggers when it perceives situations as threatening or trying. This reaction activates a series of physical and behavioural responses to enable the body to cope. In humans, this translates into symptoms such as increased heart rate, increased cortisol release, muscle tension and behavioural changes. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), around 20% of the world's population is affected by mental or stress-related disorders, underlining the scale of this challenge. Similarly, in animals, stress manifests itself through signs such as nervousness, hypervigilance, stereotypic behaviour or the tendency to flee. A great deal of research has highlighted the consequences of stressful environments on the behaviour of farm animals. 🐮 🐷 🐔 🐟 As a Wellness expert, the development of olfactory solutions for stress management is a key focus of our R&D. By exploring the cerebral mode of action of our solutions and carrying out numerous tests, we have been able to build up solid scientific files. #stress #wellbeing

We recently surveyed 1,000 people to get their views on hypochondria and there were some interesting results. One key takeaway: 3 out of 4 people believe hypochondria or illness anxiety is a genuine mental health disorder But did you know when we looked further into the public conversation, people talk about general anxiety and depression over 125 times more than hypochondria (according to social listening data)! It’s critical to de-stigmatizing hypochondria/illness anxiety disorder and other mental issues to create more empathy and better health outcomes. At New Ocean Health, it's our goal to educate and find ways to better support those dealing with chronic conditions or who want to live a healthier lifestyle. This leads to a better healthcare system; a win-win. If you want to read more about how hypochondria and illness anxiety affects individuals and the healthcare ecosystem, get a copy of “Hypochondria: What's Behind the Hidden Costs Healthcare Costs in America,” the most recent book written by our CEO Hal Rosenbluth and CMO Marnie Hall, out June 18. Scientific research underscores the significant impact of #friendships on mental and physical health. Friendships reduce cortisol levels, mitigating stress, and enhance psychological well-being by boosting dopamine and oxytocin release, leading to increased happiness and bonding. Robust social networks improve cognitive function, decrease depression risk, and contribute to greater #longevity by lowering cardiovascular disease risk. Ultimately, friendships foster #resilience, helping individuals better cope with life's challenges, thus promoting overall health and #well-being.
