🏆PHONO has been once again ranked among the Top 10 in the financial stability ranking of PV module manufacturers released by Sinovoltaics. It analyzed listed solar panel producers using a balance sheet-based model and publicly available financial information to track financial strength over the past 3 years. 💡Many people realize that today's PV module manufacturers will probably not be around in 25 years. In many years to come, many PV projects will likely face a tough question: whom to contact with performance complaints and replacement requests for a defective module if the supplier goes bankrupt? Employing solar modules from financially stable manufacturers provides a better hedge against the potential risk of collapsing ROI of any PV project and ensures that warranties are honored. 👍PHONO is a reliable choice that provides your strong backbone and minimizes your risks. #PHONO #SolarPV #Module #Financial #Stability #Sustainability

Personally, I've always wondered why developers look for tier1 solar PV module manufacturers while doing a techno-commercial analysis. As per BloombergNEF Tier1 #Solar Module Maker Methodology, "Tier 1 module manufacturers are those which have provided own-brand, own-manufacture products to at least six different projects, which have been financed non-recourse by six different commercial banks, in the past two years." These projects should be >=5MW in size. The document strongly recommends for module purchasers and banks to not use this list as a measure of quality but instead consult a technical due-diligence firm such as #RINA. Since this basic categorization has been used as an advertisement by certain manufacturers, it should never replace a proper due #diligence process in product selection.

Materials still account for the bulk of #pvmodule costs, making up nearly 75% of COGS for some manufacturers. In the Q4 #STAC service from Exawatt - now part of CRU and Kiwa PVEL, we discuss how in this challenging market, some manufacturers are trying to reduce costs by reducing the quality of the input materials, including wafers/cells, junctions boxes, backsheets and other key components. Third party testing is therefore critical to ensure quality during the procurement process. Buyers should beware to specify the particular solar Bill of Materials for their needs. JA Solar Defends Patents in Europe JA Solar has launched a patent infringement case against a rival at the Unified Patent Court in Germany. The dispute centers on the competitor’s TOPCon solar modules, which allegedly infringe on JA Solar’s patents EP 2 787 541 B1 and EP 4 092 759 B1. These patents, crucial for advanced solar cell efficiency, are valid across multiple European countries. JA Solar modules, known for their cutting-edge technology, are available on Search4Solar Europe’s largest procurement platform for solar products. In the quest for optimizing photovoltaic (PV) system performance, accurate soiling loss monitoring is crucial. Soiling, the accumulation of dirt, dust, and debris on PV panels, significantly impacts energy production. Traditional methods measure soiling loss at the short circuit current (Isc) or with soiling ratio (SR) detectors, but this approach often fails to provide a true representation of power loss at PV array level. Monitoring at the Maximum Power Point (MPP) instead offers a precise assessment, reflecting the actual operational conditions of the PV system. The market is flooded with diverse soiling loss measurement solutions, each varying in accuracy and reliability. After years of exploration and innovation, it has become clear that MPP soiling loss monitoring is the way forward. The sun's path, or sunpath, refers to the trajectory the sun follows across the sky over the course of a day and throughout the year. This path varies depending on factors such as geographic location, time of year, and time of day. The sun's position in the sky directly influences the amount of sunlight received by photovoltaic (PV) panels, which in turn affects PV production. #BigShineEnergy
