Global Perspectives — Songkran, also known as the Thai New Year Water Festival, is a vibrant celebration observed annually in Thailand and parts of Southeast Asia. While its origins are rooted in Thai culture, Songkran's joyous festivities and spirit of renewal resonate globally, symbolising the arrival of the traditional Thai New Year and the rejuvenating power of water. During Songkran, streets across Thailand come alive with exuberant water fights and lively processions. People splash water on one another to symbolise washing away the past year's misfortunes and welcoming blessings for the year ahead. It's a time for family reunions, temple visits and acts of generosity and goodwill. As Thailand and other parts of the world observe Songkran, they embrace the values of joy, renewal and community. Across cultures and continents, Songkran reminds people of the universal desire for new beginnings and the joyous spirit of celebration that unites us worldwide. At Santa Fe, we are focused on the movement of people—helping them integrate into new countries and communities. We enjoy sharing the fascinating nuances of the places where we help people work, live, and thrive. International relocations work best when people have a global mindset and a grounding in local systems and societies' cultural traditions and sensitivities. Let us be part of your total relocation journey to success. #GlobalPerspectives #SantaFeRelocation #AssignmentManagement #CompensationManagement #DestinationServices #Immigration #Moving #GlobalMobility #HumanResources #HR #GlobalMobilityMadeEasy

A short recap showcasing some of the vibes from our Bali Impact event co-hosted by Asia Exchange, Beyond Abroad, Edunation, The PIE and APAIE | Asia-Pacific Association for International Education. I had the privilege to host a session on the theme of "The further you go, the more you grow" in relation to studying abroad with some rockstar speakers such as Courtney Temple MBA, CDE®, Harri Suominen, Troy Peden and our student Lucia Dorn. The key take-aways from our experts in the session were: 🧠 Though kilometers can play a role in enabling opportunities for bigger impact on individuals when studying abroad, it all starts with the student's mindset. 🏡 As Lucia Dorn put it, "home is where my heart is". The impact of studying abroad on an individual can truly be realised after returning back home and at best, the impact can spread via one individual to a whole community. 📊 Some question marks remain. How will the impact of study abroad be affected in the future by trends such as virtual mobility and shorter-term programs? How will students with less chances for internationalization during the pandemic be affected (e.g. employability)? Special thanks to Dr. Maureen Manning and Louise Kinnaird for the cooperation! With so much positive feedback, we may be announcing a similar event before next year's APAIE, so keep your eyes peeled before making your travel arrangements next year👀
