Pick n Pay’s Post

We are delighted to announce that Mrs Wendy Ackerman has been named one of the 2024 Hall of Femme Honorees by the International Women’s Forum South Africa (IWFSA) for her extraordinary contributions to business and society. The award recognises Mrs Ackerman’s role in helping to build Pick n Pay in the 1960s into the iconic brand it is today, while raising four small children. By overcoming challenges in the workplace, she set the stage to passionately pursue change for all the women who followed her. Her message to women has always been clear, “there is nothing you can’t do.” Mrs Ackerman has also tirelessly championed employee welfare, launching programs that addressed HIV and AIDS awareness and providing benefits that safeguarded the well-being of the thousands of employees who represent our workforce. Her devotion to education extends through the bursary programs she has helped establish, offering deserving students and the children of Pick n Pay employees the opportunity to pursue their dreams. She is a powerful testament to how one woman's compassion, dedication, and visionary leadership can transform industries, communities, and countless lives.
