Youth involvement, true pricing, smart farming and entrepreneurial focus are require indicators to sustainable agro food system in Africa. *#Worldfoodday, *#Smallholder, *#Sustainability
FAO holds its annual World Food Forum this week (https://lnkd.in/e32_K8xR) in Rome. Today is #WorldFoodDay. As a longstanding partner, International Cooperative Alliance was invited as keynote speaker to a forum on family farming and how cooperatives can harness against market concentration. Answers lie in entrepreneurship with farmers, true pricing, smart farming. This includes the use of digital solutions and by mobilizing youth as key protagonists to our future global agrifood system. With over 9,000 participants, WFF designs its new strategic cycle on good food for all, today and also for the future. With my colleague Danilo Salerno we are shaping the new strategy episode in our longterm partnership with FAO. With thanks to Cécile Berranger, Benjamin Davis, Adriano Campolina de Oliveira Soares, Lauren Phillips Carlos Watson ps. I said hello to chris claes.

As the use of digital agriculture technology increases, so does the importance of strengthening communications between farmers and agtech companies. At EMILI's 2024 Agriculture Enlightened Conference, Ag Data Transparent Administrator Todd Janzen highlighted how their certification process helps foster stronger farmer-agtech relationships through clear, consistent contracts and data principles. Following Janzen's presentation, a panel discussion took place with leaders such as Jill Verway, President of Keystone Agricultural Producers, and Canadian Federation of Agriculture Board Member; Liz Pham, Chief Growth Officer at GrainFox and Dan Lussier, EMILI's Director of Agri-Food Data and Ag Data Transparent Board Member Read our latest blog post to learn how Ag Data Transparent is making a difference in the agriculture data ecosystem: https://buff.ly/3Cl3tFF #AgData #DigitalAgriculture #CdnAg

Guillaume Lefranc knows a thing or two about the global food chain. And he’s noticing that some of the industry’s biggest players are spending more and more time talking about regenerative agriculture. Listen to what he has to say. It was great to attend, listen, learn and discuss key topics in the agri-supply chain and explore how new technologies, strategies and collaborations can shape the future for farmers and growers. Some great presentations and case studies demonstrating that new methods, more data, DSS, AI and new partnerships can provide opportunities and mitigate risks, whether in improving crop production, regenerating soils, accessing finance and ensuring sustainability. Thank you to the team and our speakers and of course the attendees for some great conversations and link ups over the 2 days. #agribusiness24 #primetics #culturatechnologies

Than you Ivo for posting. The event provided a good status update on our journey to industry regeneration and re imagination of the world's agricultural production. Its beginning to dawn on us all what #biodiversity breakdown and #climate extremes will mean to supply-chains and while the vast majority of supply and the financing of same is linked to degenerative and deeply destructive farming practices, real work is being done that change (or at least mitigate that in the future). Now we need to work to activate the BIG leavers for change: 1) Divest or increase the cost of capital the degenerative chemical and genetics input companies by banks and institutional investors (in particular the pension and insurance companies who have a direct interest in fast exponential change. You know who you are!!) 2) Ensure access to capital for training and change in farm management for farmers and landowers. From input reliant #degenerative to #naturepositive regenerative involves big psycolocial and material #risk which is compounded by increased climate volatility makes it almost impossible to change without cheap access to capital and knowledge. 3) Stop the perversity in the subsidy system, rewards good regeneration stewardship and penalise degradation of nature and natural systems. Fast move to full cost accounting and accelerate the transition by putting big windfall / profit taxes on the input corporations who for decades have been polluting and destroying our planet with impunity and deeply disturbing mafia tactics. After all, citizens (taxpayers and voters) need to know that ultimately the POLLUTER PAYS FOR DESTRUCTION of human and planetary health, right? #regenerativeleadership #regenerativeagriculture #impactinvesting Regenerate Asset Management Savory Institute European Commission European Investment Fund (EIF) European Parliament Climate-KIC Community EIT Food Climate-KIC EARA | European Alliance for Regenerative Agriculture IFOAM Organics Europe Soil Association Sustainable Food Trust Sustainable Markets Initiative
Farmers at the center I want to express my appreciation for Isabella Hughes and her team at the Regenerative Agriculture Summit in Amsterdam for the continuous evolvement of the conference. The decisive majority of panels at the Summit had at least one farmer in the conversation. The opening of the Summit of Patrick Holden and the farmers of EARA | European Alliance for Regenerative Agriculture was powerful and needed to frame the further discussion. Does this mean that the private agrifood sector puts farmers in the center of their interest? Certainly not, and we'll have more to discuss on this. But it means that the team of the Summit has decided to design a conference which includes farmer voices, gives them the stage and reminds private sector stakeholders of the importance to follow suit.

A legacy of innovation in agriculture. In 1975, Annovi Reverberi reached a significant milestone by becoming the world leader in crop spraying and weeding pumps with the launch of the AR230bp. This revolutionary model was at the forefront of agricultural technology, offering unmatched performance and reliability. The success of the AR230bp not only solidified Annovi Reverberi’s leadership in the sector, but also paved the way for decades of continued innovation. Its design and powerful capabilities quickly made it the go-to solution for farmers and agricultural professionals, setting new standards for efficiency and durability in the field. Innovation has always been at the heart of Annovi Reverberi, and 1975 was just one of many moments where we pushed the boundaries of what was possible. This achievement laid the foundation for the advancements that define us today. Over the years, we’ve built on this legacy, consistently meeting the evolving needs of the agricultural industry. As we grow and evolve, we take pride in milestones like this that have shaped our journey and serve as ongoing sources of inspiration. #AnnoviReverberi #Heritage #History #AgricultureInnovation #QualityMadeInItaly
