Today I had the pleasure of spending time with Cadent Gas Limited’s HyNet colleagues Progressive Energy, Viridor and Pilkington United Kingdom Limited and sharing our vision for a decarbonised North West with Ofgem and the Low Carbon Contracts Company. Pilkington plans to use hydrogen to create low carbon glass and Viridor will be one of first to capture CO2 from their processes. This is CO2 reduction on a massive scale and providing industry with a route to decarbonise and grow. Looking forward to working with government over the coming months as the various business models for hydrogen transport and storage are progressed.
