Pinergy are proud to partner with Christ Church Cathedral Dublin, who have signed a one-year Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA) for renewable green electricity. The CPPA will meet 100% of the Cathedral’s annual energy requirements and support its sustainability ambitions to reduce its carbon emissions. This agreement will enable the iconic Dublin cathedral to power its operations using renewable energy sourced from Moneenatieve Wind Farm, Co. Leitrim. *100 percent clean energy by 2035.* Vermont Senate in the USA have approved the clean energy target via the first major update to the state’s renewable energy standard in nearly a decade. What I also find interesting is that the various utility providers were given different timeframes to achieve this clean energy goal by 2035. The bill requires the state’s largest utility, Green Mountain Power 2030 to achieve this target, while giving smaller municipal utilities until 2035. This is a realistic and ambitious and sets an example for other states, municapilities and countries. #sustainability #cleanenergy #renewableenergy Source: https://lnkd.in/dc9VxEk3.

Today, renewable energy sources make up a significant proportion of the electricity mix that powers our homes and businesses. With the drive to meet the Government’s net zero target by 2050, and to decarbonise Britain’s electricity grid by 2030, more developers and funders are investing in renewable energy projects. While the technologies involved in harnessing wind, solar and hydro energy might be relatively new, the title defects that solicitors are uncovering when acting on behalf of developers are similar to those we see with many traditional property or land transactions. With a wealth of experience in this ever-growing sector, our commercial underwriting specialists can be relied upon to provide cover that’s tailored precisely to your clients’ needs. Here's one for all my friends in the renewable energy industry! 👇 👇 👇 States looking to increase their production of renewable energy should look at New York’s RAPID Act as a way to get the job done. With an expedited process for both permitting and for appeals, the Act provides greater opportunities for projects to make it through the pipeline quickly without being caught up in red tape. Jon Restivo explains how the RAPID Act works in our latest DE Insight. #solar #newyorksolar #solarindustry #cleanenergy #DEinsights #renewableenergy

🌍 Most people support new renewable projects and feel frustrated when they are blocked 🌱 A UK-wide poll of over 10,000 adults by Opinium - commissioned by RenewableUK - reveals that most people in the UK support new grid infrastructure, and feel frustrated when renewable energy projects are blocked by a small number of objectors. Key findings include: ⚡61% of the UK public would be frustrated if local renewable energy projects were blocked by a small group of objectors 🏗️59% support new grid infrastructure—rising to 61% when these upgrades are part of a national plan that benefits communities. You can read more about the poll and its key findings in the comments below. 📣The message from the findings is clear: most people in the UK support delivery of clean energy and the new infrastructure needed to power our sustainable future and grow the economy. Very good #RenewableEnergy news out of Vermont! Vermont legislature passes 100% renewable energy bill On May 7, the Vermont Senate passed H.289, which would update Vermont’s Renewable Energy Standard to require 100% renewables by 2035. H.289 passed both the House and Senate with veto-proof majorities, so if Governor Scott vetoes the bill as expected, Renewable Energy Vermont believes it will become law when the Legislature reconvenes for its veto override session in June... https://lnkd.in/g64PTb7y

Carbon free by 2035 is a noble goal, but the only way to generate the amount of power needed, especially with the shift to electric cars, stoves, and heating, is to embrace nuclear power. Solar and wind are great, but they don’t generate the power per square foot needed, and they aren’t always producing energy. The sun sets, the wind stops, but people still need power. One nuclear reactor can replace 60 square miles worth of solar field (Burlington is roughly 15.5 square miles), and, over its lifetime, produces less Co2 per watt. Traditional green energy sources are wonderful and have my full support, but we need more if we want to de-carbonize.
How big is the Renewable Energy Standard update passed by the Vermont House and Senate? "The measure would make Vermont one of the only states with a legislative commitment to the Biden administration’s stated goal of building a carbon-free power grid by 2035." Pretty darn big. Great work by Speaker Jill Krowinski and Pro Tem Baruth getting this over the finish line. https://lnkd.in/eEWXViZJ
