We are well positioned for the new energy world with our “Solutions 2030” strategy.
Our three business segments – Energy Solutions, Power Grid and Infrastructure & Buildings – enable us to offer customers forward-looking solutions covering all aspects of the #energytransition, from renewable energy production, marketing and distribution to efficient use in infrastructures and buildings.
This holistic approach will allow us to increase our #EBIT to CHF 1 billion by 2030 and invest around CHF 4 billion over the next six years, half of which will be in Switzerland.
In addition, we aim to achieve net-zero direct emissions across the entire Group by 2040.

For the first time, Carter’s has been included in the EPA Green Power Partnership as a Top 30 Retail partner. This marks a significant milestone in our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint.
The EPA Green Power Partnership is a voluntary program designed to encourage the adoption of green power by U.S. organizations, contributing to the nation's growth in renewable energy usage. In 2023, we acquired 14,000 U.S.-based renewable energy credits, translating to 14 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of wind power. This constitutes 10 percent of the company’s total electricity usage, equal to the annual usage of 1,000 American homes. #GreenPowerPartnership#lifeatcartershttps://lnkd.in/grajJ853https://lnkd.in/er76F7KK

SolarTech is thrilled to expand our services into Nevada, especially during such an impactful time for renewable energy in the state. In 2019, Governor Steve Sisolak signed a historic bill, SB358, doubling Nevada’s Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) to 50% by 2030. This move reinforces Nevada’s dedication to a greener future, and we’re excited to be a part of this journey.

As part of our commitment to achieving net-zero carbon by 2035, we have undertaken a number of initiatives, including;
-Installation of 100kw Solar Photovoltaic at our main Distribution Centre
-Installation of 44kw Solar Photovoltaic at Venter (Head Office) to further offset our energy use
By installing solar panels on the roof of our Warehouse and Distribution Centre, we have vastly reduced our carbon output and increased energy efficiency. Since their installation in December 2015, our solar panels have generated over 500,000 kWh of electricity.
The Installation of solar panels demonstrates a clear dedication to our ESG commitments and environmental responsibility by reducing carbon emissions and transitioning towards renewable energy sources.

Mission Possible
Today has been a truly significant day in keeping the UK’s momentum towards net zero moving.
I attended the first meeting of the Onshore Wind Taskforce, chaired by our Secretary of State Ed Miliband, and and it’s brilliant to be part of such a diverse range of organisations determined to drive action to help unblock the barriers to deployment. We’re now working at pace to accelerate appropriate onshore deployment and maximise the significant benefits of onshore wind for the UK.
The Taskforce is a critical cog in the government’s energy Mission Control, ably headed by Chris Stark, and with a focus to decarbonise Britain’s power system by 2030. So in that context, our Energy Secretary’s convening of the cross-departmental Energy Mission Board today is timely. Whilst DESNZ will drive this agenda, it will need cross-government effort to make this happen.
And last but definitely not least, we welcome the increase in the AR6 CfD budget announced today. It’s further evidence that the opportunity that renewables including onshore and solar bring is understood.

🙌 UK announces Contracts for Difference AR6 budget.
🇬🇧UK Government announces budget of over £1.5 billion to deliver homegrown clean energy projects. Fantastic news against a backdrop of prior impediments to renewable success and a stark contrast to the reactive response to license failure.
👍Evidence of proactive governance in action with the launch of both the Energy Mission Board and the Onshore Wind Industry Taskforce together with a talk of Potential Regulatory Frameworks for Cross-Border CO2 Transport between EU and UK. A promising indication that the energy transition is at the top of the government’s policy agenda.
👏The cross-departmental initiatives that seek to work collaboratively within government but also beyond with partnerships with renewable industry leaders and investors will help build an attractive renewables market place in Britain, tackling energy and job security along the way.
🤝By creating such a partnership ecosystem, with three leading actors - business, government and finance - a world stage that encourages sustainable business practices can emerge.
✍🏻An opportunity for insurers!
The insurance sector is an important financial actor at the heart of this narrative given its pivotal role in the commercial viability of clean technology deployment and safety.
