The number of female physicians has surged, with women now making up 38% of all physicians in the U.S. and over 55% of medical students! Many are leading the charge in primary care fields like pediatrics, family medicine, internal medicine, and OB-GYN. And while a significant number are entering surgical specialties, we still see fewer women in non-surgical areas like cardiology, gastroenterology, and neurology. As we celebrate this progress, let’s encourage even more women to explore all specialties! Together, we can build a more diverse and inclusive healthcare system. 💪✨ #WomenInMedicine #DiversityInHealthcare #FutureOfMedicine

#Burnout is the manifestation in an individual of dysfunction in that person's workplace. 63% of ED docs burned out - and ED residencies can't fill. 9 other specialties at or above 50% burnout. 15% more women physicians are burned out compared to their male colleagues, and the percentage of the physician workforce who are women is growing rapidly. As this survey shows, there is a glimmer of hope, but these levels of burnout remain unacceptable. #Healthcare #CEOs who are focused on the future will take more significant action - investing more in fixing the workplace than enhancing clinician resilience.

Burnout falls, but still hits these 6 physician specialties most: Emergency medicine: 56.5%—down from 62%. Internal medicine: 51.4%—down from 52%. Obstetrics and gynecology: 51.2%—down from 54%. Family medicine: 51%—down from 58%. Pediatrics: 46.9%—down from 55%. Hospital medicine: 44%—down from 59%. The second pillar in Ontario Medical Association's plan to #stopthehealthcrisis is to advance equitable health care to rural and northern Ontarians. Why? These Ontarians have worse health outcomes, shorter life expectancy and poorer access to care compared to the rest of the province. In addition, physician and other staffing shortages in the north are directly affecting access to timely and equitable care. We’ve identified 3 solutions and have asked the government to take action now: 1. First, the government needs to work with us to develop and implement a Northern Physician Workforce strategy. Family medicine, psychiatry, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, anesthesiology and internal medicine are most in need. 2. We’re also calling for a regional physician credentialling system to break down barriers that keep doctors from working across multiple hospitals, in order to prevent emergency department closures or cover other shortages. 3. The government also needs to fund opportunities for educational and targeted skills development for the unique challenges of medicine in remote communities, which helps ensure success for physicians and patients. Newton Clinic PC partnered with Artera to boost their Google Rating from 2.3 to 3.5 Stars! 🌟 ⬆️ How'd they do it? Read on... Located in Iowa, Newton Clinic is a multi-specialty healthcare provider offering family medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics, gynecology, internal medicine and podiatry — with 24/7 on-call coverage. 👀 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞: Despite their dedication to delivering excellent care, Newton Clinic struggled with a low Google Review rating of 2.3 stars. This was a significant issue, as about 94% of patients today use online reviews to evaluate providers. They needed a proactive approach to improve their online reputation and to reflect the true quality of care provided. 🤝 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Newton Clinic partnered with Artera to distribute a post-visit survey link via a Conversation Builder workflow: • Post-Visit Survey: After each appointment, patients automatically receive a survey to rate their visit. • Manager Intervention: Patients who rated their visit a 1 or 2 were given the option to speak to a manager for follow-up. • Encouraging Positive Reviews: Patients who rated their visit a 4 or 5 received a thank you message along with a link to leave a Google Review. ✨ 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬: ✅ Google Review rating increased from 2.3 stars to 3.5 stars (a 52% improvement!) ✅ 60+ new 4 and 5-star reviews within 4 months 𝐏𝐥𝐮𝐬, 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤, 𝐞𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞. “𝘉𝘺 𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘷𝘪𝘢 𝘈𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘢’𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘮𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴, 𝘸𝘦'𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘭𝘺 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸𝘴, 𝘦𝘯𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘸𝘤𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘢𝘵 𝘕𝘦𝘸𝘵𝘰𝘯 𝘊𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘤," said Mark Thayer, Practice Administrator at Newton Clinic. #healthtech #medtech #digitalhealth #healthcare #patientexperience
