Managing foot lameness in horses, especially related to osteoarthritis of the coffin (DIP) and pastern (PIP) joints, is one of the most challenging aspects of equine veterinary care. With complex anatomy and overlapping pain regions, accurate diagnosis often requires advanced imaging such as digital radiography, MRI, or CT scans. Osteoarthritis in these joints can severely impact athletic performance, making early detection and intervention crucial. For more information on treating the coffin or pastern joint with ArthramidVet, follow the link below: https://lnkd.in/gM-k2wWb #arthramidvet #veterinarymedicine #equinearthritis

NEW RESEARCH: A machine-learning algorithm to grade heart murmurs and stage preclinical myxomatous mitral valve disease in dogs A study led by the University of Cambridge Veterinary School has shown that a machine-learning algorithm, adapted on data from murmurs in humans, can accurately detect and grade heart murmurs in dogs. Tested on 756 dogs, the algorithm achieved an 87.9% sensitivity and 81.7% specificity. It’s a promising tool for identifying preclinical myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD) in dogs, potentially enabling low-cost, accurate screening in primary veterinary care. ➡️ Read the full study: https://buff.ly/3AtJ2pb #JVIM
