Sobering thought when you truly think about the full capacity and what this will mean for all of technology but specifically Cybersecurity. Quantum Computing on the quick and easy: Current Digital computers work with resistors, and each resistor is a bit so that it can be a 0 or a 1. Quantum Computers work on photons or ions (quantum mechanics = wonky mechanics). Each photon or ion is a qubit. Currently, we use this as it’s both a 0 and a 1 because of superposition. Because it’s both, it operates a lot faster. But!! As you can see in my drawing, we are not utilizing it to total efficiency. Because of quantum mechanics and superposition, you have almost infinite possibilities of 1s and 0s because it also goes into positions in a constant spinning state 🤯
