instCut is ready for a public test. It's quite a challenge to make this tool work, I've never done something requiring much interaction with the tool. I would love to hear any feedback or bug reports so I can improve this tool. https://lnkd.in/gGEs-itd #Maya #Modeling #Tool

Imagine this AI + citizen participation scenario: 1. Our neighborhood committee is discussing the development of a new green space at the end of our street. 2. During the meeting, a resident suggests an ideal spot for a bench. 3. The urban planner or architect then takes a photo of the proposed location, annotates it, and uses real-time visualization tools to show the neighborhood committee what the bench would look like in that exact spot. 4. This immediate visual feedback allows the committee to make informed decisions on the spot.

Turtle Nest for ROS 2 is now officially released and available for all major distributions — Humble, Iron, and Jazzy — and can be installed via apt! To celebrate this, I’ve created a short tutorial on how to use it to create your own custom ROS 2 package. The tutorial walks you through the process step by step, including the package building process and how to run your newly created node. Check it out below! If you’ve been working with ROS 2 or are new to it, Turtle Nest could make your development process easier by streamlining the ROS 2 package creation. You no longer need to manually create nodes, launch files, or parameter files. Everything is handled neatly through the user interface. Check out the Turtle Nest GitHub page for full documentation: https://lnkd.in/d6K-sp-K PS: I just co-founded a new robotics software development company, Henki Robotics. We’re looking for exciting ROS projects to work on, so if you need a helping hand with your ROS development, send us a message! #ros2 #ros #opensource

Dear #OpenFoam community, #cfd fellows and #numeric enthusiasts. I just added a new repository which includes an updated version of the GAMG solver of OpenFOAM with the F-Cycle. Even though, tests showed a slowdown due higher cost within one cycle and also more cycles in general (which is a bit weird to me as I was expecting that the number of cycles one need to perform with the F-cycle should be less compared to the V-Cycle), I wanted to make the code public available. Maybe it is beneficial for high stiff problems or someone finds some issue. Furthermore, the library splits the restriction and prolongation calculation into two new functions to enable a more modular code. As the code does not provide benefits for the tests I made, I don't expect that it is going to be merged to the official release. https://lnkd.in/ds7MRKRG

Registering to the preCICE Workshop 2024 is still possible this week, don't miss it: https://lnkd.in/dB-8CGur The whole preCICE team takes a lot of care to make this very engaging for both newcomers and experienced users. Some highlights this year: - Join the world café discussion on our standardization effort and help us develop guidelines for adapters and application cases that fit your needs: https://lnkd.in/ddVA-imr - Follow the new part in the preCICE training course, setting up a complete #FSI simulation from scratch, using #OpenFOAM and #CalculiX, coupled with #preCICE. - Exchange ideas in a poster session with updates from developers and users - See new application directions in the keynote talk by Prof. Angelika Humbert: "Tackling the complexity of Greenland’s Ice Sheet with coupled models" - As always, a full day of hands-on user support, directly talking to the developers. and of course, regular talks with a lot of room for discussion. Reminder: Check if your organization holds a preCICE support license already. In that case, three members of your organization have free tickets to these annual workshops.
