It’s about the relationship I’m building with the company. The trust they have in me. When a company reaches out to me for the next hire, it’s because they trust that I understand their long-term goals. That’s where real partnerships are built—not in the one-off transactions. When trust is there, hiring becomes a lot more than filling an open position. It becomes about building something that lasts. I know some managers will only work with one recruiter because they’ve built something together. I have a few clients like this myself, and I love working with them—I do my best not to let them down. VP of IT Company: "We have hundreds of people applying organically to our open roles, we don't need additional hiring support at this time" Me: "What is your process for sorting through those hundreds of applications? Do you have someone dedicated to that?" VP: "No, we don't have an internal recruitment team. I take time out of my day sort through and take a look to determine if their LinkedIn profile aligns with the role" Me: 😭😭😭😭😭😭 1. What if I could do all of that for you? 2. What about all of the candidate profiles that are most likely not seen in this scenario because they're lost in a massive pool? 3. What about the candidate profiles that are MUCH more than what their LinkedIn profile shows about them? 4. What about the number of hours taken away from a VP's real job that are spent on recruiting, screening, interviewing etc.? You need dedicated recruitment support. Period. If you’re working with a recruiter, and they haven’t physically been to your company… It’s a huge missed opportunity. How can you possibly understand the culture, the people, and who the company really is if you have never stepped foot in their office/facility? You can’t. And you don’t get that kind of experience and knowledge from a job description or a Zoom call. One of my favorite things to do is to go to on-site and meet with our clients and their teams BEFORE we start working on a position. We get to ask questions to people directly. We understand their mission and why they do what they do. We feel like an extension of their team, not just some outside recruiter. I’m curious, has your agency been on site with you yet? #recruiting #hiring
