When I came to Brazil in 1996, I had a telepone number of a law firm and a mission to open the company‘s first subsidiary in Latin America to earn money for our Swiss HQ. Portuguese language? Some portuñol. I was happy that my lawyer Jose Paulo Pequeno of Noronha Advogados referred me to a very competent accountant. New friends connected me to a great marketing agency Tânia Otranto CEO of MktMix and then an outstanding architect Thomas J. Michaelis CEO of Michaelis Arquitetos who became a dear friend. Brilliant retail expert Celina Kochen Kochen called me her favorite Swiss. I never asked if she knew any other Swiss people. Patrick Wächter (Patrick Wächter Revision und Treuhand) did a great job, auditing the subsidiary I led, and Dr Luiz Fernando Leifer Nunes was, apart being the legal representative of the shareholders, my legal mentor for everything. And, if there were not the brilliant Vera Rosas and Dra Eliana Silva de Moraes, I would not have got my act together in ANVISA regulatory affairs. And there were many more great strategic partners. Luck? Possibly! Thank you all for supporting me on this exciting journey. YOU did a great job!!! In 2024 you don‘t need that portion of luck anymore.
