Political Yard Sign Battle PENNSYLVANIA Edition Results - 76% Trump | 24% Harris (results updated after each drive) 👇🪧👇🪧👇 👉 since I spend many work days driving through a "battleground state" I decided to count yard signs. over the next few weeks I'll be covering areas such as Scranton, and Philly suburbs. Here are the rules: 1️⃣ - each property only gets counted once (sorry homeowner with 12 signs) 2️⃣ - I'm going the way of the GPS without trying to go through any specific areas 3️⃣ - signs along a stretch of public road are counted once for each general area since they were likely put out by the same person. 4️⃣ - results will be in the comments and updated with each trip. 🇺🇲 using this highly scientific polling method, I believe we can accurately determine the number of signs I passed. #election #pennsylvania #battleground #polls

Removing minimum parking requirements is boosting housing construction and aiding affordable housing. That's why recent planning initiatives in Dubai (Affordable Housing policy and TOD Framework) are aiming to reduce minimum parking requirements.
“No single legislative action did more to contribute to housing creation than the elimination of parking minimums.” - Director of City Planning, Minneapolis. https://lnkd.in/eii8xEy3

As many of us are still trying to make sense of the recent election, figuring out how we go forward, the latest #idaholistens event may help a bit. A wide range of Twin Falls folks--a hair stylist, an ex-convict, a teacher, a refugee store owner, and more--share what they value and why. What we learn from these events, time after time, is that every #community is made up of real (and different) people with real (and different) experiences and values. We don't have to agree with each other, but sharing and listening helps us understand and connect, and co-exist. #depolarization #difference #election #listen #storytelling #values #publicspeaking #twinfalls #connection #boisestate https://lnkd.in/gcyhPb3q

https://lnkd.in/e-fd36De #democracy #clonmel #elections #politics Democracy in Action: The Significance of the Clonmel Elections In the heart of Tipperary, amidst the rolling hills and rich history, lies Clonmel, a town that embodies the spirit of Irish democracy. Read about the councilors Tony Black and Annemarie Ryan who are going to take part in the election in Tipperary. This election is a poignant reminder of the power of the people and the essence of our democratic principles. The significance of these elections extends beyond the boundaries of Clonmel. They serve as a microcosm of the broader political landscape, reflecting the hopes, concerns, and aspirations of citizens across Ireland. In a time of profound societal change and global challenges, the outcome of these elections carries weight, resonating with issues of local development, infrastructure, and representation. As we reflect on the democratic process unfolding in Clonmel, let us not forget the responsibility that comes with the privilege of voting. Each ballot cast is a testament to the power of individual voices coming together to effect change. It's a reminder that democracy is not a spectator sport but a participatory endeavor that requires active engagement from all members of society. Regardless of the outcome, let us embrace the opportunity of the Clonmel elections with grace and unity. Let us recognize the diversity of opinions and perspectives that enrich our democracy and pledge to work together, irrespective of political affiliations, for the betterment of our community and our nation. In the days and weeks ahead, as the newly elected representatives take office, let us hold them accountable, ensuring that they uphold the values of transparency, integrity, and service to the people. Let us engage constructively with our elected officials, offering our support, feedback, and ideas for building a brighter future for Clonmel and all of Tipperary.

Thus opens one of the most hotly debated topics of "main street" towns today. Should the highway go through downtown and become the main street, which inevitably leads to "strodes" and "dangerous by design" thoroughfares in pedestrian-rich environments, or do you route the high-speed traffic around the main downtown while trying to lure the "business and tourist traffic" into your charming, courthouse, picturesque, arts and entertainment active town square? How do you make a US or State highway a complete street?
From the Archives: The Federal-Aid Highway Act "was to be the largest infrastructure project in the U.S., a great feat that would drastically change the shape of our country"...and it spelled the death of hundreds of small towns.
