100% is good but 101% is better… Strange statement at first isn’t it? We all know that giving your all, your 100%, is expected, right? It’s like getting your product to market or simply being nice to people. But what about that extra 1%? That’s where I think the magic happens. Imagine you're at your favorite coffee shop. Your barista not only remembers your order but also remembers that you like your drink extra hot. That little extra effort makes your experience better and makes sure you'll come back. It’s a simple gesture, but it makes all the difference, almost makes your day. From my experience in the business world, that extra 1% can mean the difference between a customer who thinks "that's exactly what I paid for" and one who's like "wow, these guys really get me." So, if you see a chance to give that 101% — to innovate, to refine, to impress, or to just make someone’s day — why not go for it? Just like this one makes my day 🐈

Happy Pi Day! My friends know I’m a big-time jokester, so I enjoy adding light-hearted jokes throughout my day. For example, when I go to Starbucks, I ask for my tea with 3.14159265359 inches of steamed soy. The barista often will give me a double-take, confused by my ultra-specific order, and others understand that I’m referring to Pi. I wanted to share that example because, too often, we go through our day without putting much thought or intention into anything we do. I call those transactions. We order coffee, go to the grocery store, pay our bills, and go to work habitually without any intention behind our actions or behaviors. It’s anything but transformational. Going back to my Starbucks barista interaction, I do that because I want to throw them off a bit, make them laugh, and have a fun conversation. These actions can lead to transformation in us and in the people we interact with--because by not making an interaction transactional, we can connect deeper with others.

Starbucks would have failed, if not for this tactic Day 5/N working on something I love. 🎯 Ever wonder why your name is on that Starbucks cup? Spoiler: It's not because they can spell it right. For decades, we've been sipping our lattes from cups marked with our names—sometimes hilariously misspelled. But here's the kicker: Starbucks didn’t start this trend until 2012, not 1971 as some might believe! So, why does the coffee giant insist on turning us into characters from a caffeine soap opera? ☕ It's All About Belonging When a barista scrawls your name (or some creative version of it) on your cup, it’s not just personalization—it’s a strategy. A name isn't just a name. “A person’s name is to him or her the sweetest and most important sound in any language.” — Dale Carnegie. It builds a community vibe, nudging you to come back even though the brew next door might be just as good. 😎 Next-Level Self-Promotion And those misspellings? Absolute genius. Customers share their “Starbucks Name Fails” on social media, giving the brand free, viral promotion. It's more than coffee—it's a moment you’ll laugh about and tweet, tagging the coffee empire. So, next time you’re “Lord Voldemort” or “Queen Bey” on that cup, remember: it’s more than a caffeine fix. It’s Starbucks keeping you entertained—and loyal—one misspelled name at a time. 🎤

Is it correct to say: - une tasse de café, or - une tasse à café? In fact, both are correct. But they have different meanings. 🟣 une tasse à café Here we're talking about the recipient itself. By this, I mean that 'une tasse à café' refers to a cup in which we usually serve coffee - ✔️ a coffee cup And... 🟣 une tasse de café The focus is on what we drink. By saying 'une tasse de café' We actually mean to say - A cup filled with coffee, ✔️ a cup of coffee This example shows us how important these tiny little words are - they can completely change the meaning of a sentence!

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿?!?!?! We've all been there. You are currently fifth in the queue at your favourite coffee house. The guy at the front of the queue has already taken five minutes on deciding between a venti single shot decaf black americano, and a half caf, half decaf, half half-n-half half almond milk iced mocha with half the sugar syrup 🙄 The one member of staff on has already asked twice if he wants milk with his black americano 🙄 Basically, you are resigned to the fact you're gonna be there for a while. Much like having broadband internet. But what if you were the only person in the coffee shop? 🤔 What if you had your own personal barista who gets your order right, first time, everytime, without having to ask twice? 🙂 Now you are talking leased line internet. Why cope? Why struggle on? #internetserviceprovider #leasedline #buildingrelationships #connectingpeople #coffee

The power of personality is reflected in anything you do. And it's well measurable in sales. I have had a recent Starbucks experience that inspired me to write this post. While taking an order the barista suggested me a special offer that would save me 2 euros and give me a bigger coffee cup. What does this coffee shop get? A happy customer who would come back and order more. For comparison reasons. In another Starbucks location (the same city) that I visited more often, I have never got this reminder about the special offer which is actually there on the electronic screen next to the cashier. To sum up: the success story lies in being authentic and caring about your customers. To be present in the moment, positive, and truly engaged in what you do. #sales #careaboutcustomer #servepeople
