Until every child has every right. On 20 November, the world marks 35 years since the historic agreement of the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child, the most widely ratified human rights treaty in history. However, far too many children are deprived of their rights. It is up to all of us to demand that decision-makers fulfil their commitments and take action. On this World Children's Day, and as the new EU mandate is taking shape, children are joining Members of the European Parliament to bring forward their priorities and discuss how policy-makers can further promote their rights. From the 13th United Nations Forum on Business and Human Rights. Final Declaration of Indigenous Peoples “Voluntary measures have failed us, as they have not been complied with. The time has come to adopt mandatory measures. As Indigenous Peoples, we generate the conditions for dignified living conditions for future generations. We call on States and corporations to adopt this long-term vision in the face of a predatory and destructive economic model.” https://lnkd.in/gBqkX5Md

While peace is undeniably crucial for the protection and fulfillment of human rights, it would be overly simplistic to label it as the sole progenitor of all other rights. Human rights encompass a diverse array of principles and freedoms, each with its own significance and interdependence. While peace certainly facilitates the realization of these rights, other factors such as justice, equality, and accountability also play indispensable roles in ensuring human dignity and well-being. Therefore, while acknowledging the vital role of peace, it is essential to recognize the multifaceted nature of human rights and the complex interactions that contribute to their advancement.
“The right to peace is the mother of all human rights. Without peace, all other rights are quashed.” At the UN Human Rights Council on Monday, United Nations Human Rights chief Volker Türk called for greater efforts to combat warmongering, fear and hatred for a more peaceful world. He said that widespread violations of international humanitarian and human rights law are having a devastating impact on millions of civilians, and stressed the importance of rebuilding trust, and working towards healing and reconciliation. “We need to regain a mindset of peace.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/esr97b8N

BEING AT PEACE IS A NATURAL STATE OF HUMAN BEING: THE BELIEF THAT THERE IS A RIGHT TO PEACE belongs to the conscious mind or ego that creates and governs PHYSICAL REALITY. This belief is the BASIS OF DUALITY PERCEPTION OF REALITY. This is because it determines that SOMEONE FROM OUTSIDE MUST AGREE that people can be in peace which is THEIR NATURAL STATE OF BEING. Humanity's perception of reality is going in the direction of a UNITY PERCEPTION of reality which says that PHYSICAL REALITY IS JUST A REFLECTION OF SPIRITUAL REALITY made up of beliefs and emotions. Accordingly, EVERYONE INTUITIVELY KNOWS WHEN HE/SHE IS AT PEACE. This perception belongs to the SUBCONSCIOUS MIND OR SOUL which is eternal and infinite. This perception presumes that the SOUL PERCEIVES REALITY DIRECTLY because BELIEFS do not exist at the original level of the soul. #peace #naturalstateofbeing #humanright #equilibrium #jasnicaklaramatic

Launch of ‘Writing Constitutions: Volume 2 Fundamental Rights last night by Wolfgang Babeck of Hall & Wilcox was of particular interest for Republicans like myself, interested in Constitutional renewal and full Australian independence. Wolfgang’s texts analyse over 70 Constitutions around the world regarding governance in Volume 1, and Fundamental Rights in Volume 2. We discussed the importance of the protection for basic rights and how these have been brought to life around the world. Children’s rights, women’s rights, right to housing, food, protest, a free press, express rather than implied freedom of speech. We can wonder how different Australia might look today with these rights guaranteed, rather than left to political courage, the battle for truth and community will.

All African states are signatories to the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights of 1981, which upholds fundamental civil and political rights, like the freedom of speech and assembly, the right to free and fair elections for citizens to select their representatives, equal treatment under the law and a fair trial, and the prohibition against torture. The framers of the African Charter foresaw scenarios where national courts would be unwilling or unable to handle cases involving the abuse of power by the executive branch. They recognized that in such cases, citizens needed an avenue to table their complaints and receive redress for wrongs committed after exhausting domestic mechanisms. The OAU, later the African Union, granted legal authority to uphold and interpret the African Charter to the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights. Today, the sheer number of cases in the Court’s docket shows that the Court continues to have the confidence of citizens around the continent as a “court of last resort” when they cannot pursue justice through domestic channels.
