Great meeting the trainees at Jigsaw Australia yesterday, and to learn about their programs and pathways to mainstream employment thanks to our parent company McMillan Shakespeare (MMSG)´s commitment to hosting potential employees by providing real life work experience opportunities. Thanks Tessa and Tim and all the trainees for your hospitality and sharing your experiences. We are looking forward to working with you in 2025. #InclusionMatters

How to go from a spectator to participator in your career development. Here’s what I mean. 👇 Spectator: Just expects to get promoted whenever it happens Participator: Gets feedback from their leader quarterly on their career expectations Spectator: Waits on others to leave so they can get promoted Participator: Creates enough value that the organization has to promote them Spectator: Does the bare minimum training session a week Participator: Works on their craft after work Spectator: Watches everyone else volunteer for the that weekend shift Participator: Is the first to raise their hand for it Today you can either watch your career slowly plot along. Or can you participate in it taking off. Your choice. ✌️ #LinkedInSports #SportsBiz #Growth

Haven't quite perfected your Elevator Pitch? Try adapting our template to get hired faster 💪 1. Education: Introduce yourself, your major, and your class or year of graduation, which is really important for the recruiter to understand so they know what type of position you will fit in. 2. Experience: Talk about the past work that you have done in previous internships or even student organizations and activities. Show that you don’t just learn in the classroom – you make use of your skills elsewhere. 3. Projects (optional): If you don’t have much experience, or if you have very impressive projects, supplement your elevator pitch be mentioning 1 or 2. 4. Conclusion: Make sure to end strong. Don’t just trail off when describing yourself. End with a preview of your response to “why this company” by adding how you fit with their mission. Learn more at pathrise.com/guides !

🌟 Embracing Transition: Empowering Careers through Unity Actions 🌟 I am thrilled to share my recent experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist, facilitating transformative sessions with Unity Actions, aimed at offering employees invaluable insights into job transition post-retrenchment. In today's rapidly evolving world, job readiness and CV skills have become essential life skills. Transitioning is not just about navigating the aftermath of retrenchment—it's about equipping oneself with the tools to thrive in any career landscape. During our sessions, I had the privilege of coaching and guiding employees, helping them see the light at the end of the tunnel. Through role-playing exercises, we explored the dynamic environment of transition, allowing participants to understand and adapt to various scenarios they might face. These experiences have reinforced my belief that transitioning is a journey every employee should be prepared for. It's about resilience, adaptability, and continuous growth. Being part of a team that empowers individuals to take charge of their career paths has been incredibly fulfilling. Let's continue to champion the importance of job readiness and make sure every professional is equipped to navigate their career journey with confidence and optimism. #CareerTransition #JobReadiness #RetrenchmentSupport #LifeSkills #UnityActions #TalentAcquisition #ProfessionalGrowth #Resilience #Empowerment

Truly honoured to be part of the LeanIn Career Comeback 7.0 Finale celebration on Saturday. I was impressed at how well the participants supported and cheered for each other, harnessed the learnings and connections from the program to accelerate their personal and career development plans. Special recognition to my two mentees from the program Anusha Venugopal MPharm, MSC , MBA and Kasturi Vimalanathan, PhD for their growth mindset and perseverance. Quick reminders to potential hiring managers: a) 2025 Malaysia Budget has proposed additional tax deductions up to 50% on wages paid over a period of 12 months for hiring women returning to work in order to boost women economic participation. b) Consider the transferable skills women may have gained during their time away from workforce. This area is often overlooked during interviews. c) By supporting women on their career comeback, you are not only contributing to a more inclusive and diverse workforce but also tapping into a highly motivated talent pool ready to bring their unique experiences and perspectives to the table.
🎉 Career Comeback 7.0 Finale Celebration Career Comeback 7.0 concluded on a high note as participants delivered powerful presentations, reflecting on their learnings and outlining their future plans. We at Lean In are thrilled to see these participants stepping back into the workforce and honoured to have been able to help shape the path forward! Here’s to growth, resilience, and new opportunities! 💪🏼💼 ✨ A huge thanks to all trainers, mentors and our partners - WORQ, Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp), and Flower Chimp !
