I had the opportunity to visit a recycling plant and witness firsthand the innovative processes and unwavering commitment to sustainability. Experiences like this reinforce my belief in the positive impact we can create when advanced technology meets environmental responsibility. What stood out the most was seeing how everyday materials can be transformed into high-quality products, proving that a circular economy is not only possible but essential for building a greener future. I firmly believe that in every role we play, we can drive practices that reshape our industry and benefit the planet. When we combine our efforts, meaningful change becomes inevitable. Every step toward a sustainable future matters, and this is just the beginning.

🌍 Cities as Wardrobes Bursting at the Seams – this was the motto of the Prague conference Circular Cities and Business, where our colleagues were also present. The event focused on key topics for our company: efficient handling of textile waste, sorting and recycling, and especially preventing its creation. Did you know that starting in 2025, Czech cities will be required to ensure the collection and recycling of textile waste? The issue was highlighted by a four-ton pile of textiles displayed in front of Palladium – a symbol of the lifetime consumption of an average family of four. And what did we symbolize at the event? On stage, we received a thank-you from Pavel Hendrichovský, Director of Diakonie Broumov, for our long-term collaboration. We deeply value this recognition, especially knowing we are contributing to solving such an important issue. And the plaque with the MALFINI logo that we brought back? #GoodNewsTuesday: 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗘𝗧 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗮 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱 Germany continues to lead the way in sustainable packaging with a PET bottle recycling rate nearing 98%! ♻️ A recent study of GVM reveals: - 𝟵𝟳.𝟲% 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲: Nearly all PET bottles were collected and recycled in 2023. - 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟱𝟬% 𝗿𝗣𝗘𝗧: On average, more than half of the material in a new PET bottle now consists of recycled material. - 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘂𝘀𝗲: Optimized bottle weights and the widespread adoption of tethered caps minimize material consumption. Tethered caps, which remain attached to the bottle, significantly improve recyclability by preventing caps from ending up as litter. This innovation, combined with a robust deposit return system and industry commitment to sustainability, has driven Germany's impressive recycling success. "Our industry demonstrates that sustainability and economic success can go hand-in-hand," says Dr. Isabell Schmidt, Managing Director of Circular Economy at IK Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen.
