Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all industries experienced the adverse effects of challenged supply chains. Global bottlenecks resulted in high raw material costs, including within the animal feed industry, where supply chain disruptions led to a steep increase in sourcing costs. These supply chain issues presented challenges for feed manufacturing and raised production costs, resulting in higher grocery store prices for consumers. Constance Cullman, president and CEO of the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA), believes it’s important to “diversify our ingredient sources…to keep our future supplies and customer base stable.” Amidst these challenges, Betafeld's MatLoop stands out as a practical and effective solution. Its unique feature of helping industry buyers diversify raw ingredient sources not only stabilizes future supplies and ensures a steady customer base but also significantly mitigates the impact of supply chain disruptions. MatLoop's distinct advantage is its ability to address common challenges of by-product utilization in animal feeds by improving logistics, environmental impacts of transit, and economics. Don't just be a spectator; be a part of this remarkable, transformative journey with Betafeld! Our technology is not just about combating food loss and improving supply chains. It's about promoting a circular economy. Your decision to join us in making a difference could be the game-changer the industry needs! #betafeld #matloop #combatingfoodloss #ai4good #circularsupplychains #closedloopagriculture #animalfeedindustrysolutions

When we first met with Kennelpak in late 2016, they knew exactly what they wanted for their pet food brand’s packaging – something new and innovative – to which we had the perfect solution! That’s why, the Collards team recently came back to us looking for a new sustainable bag which mirrored their existing range. Law Print helped them to transition into recyclable MDOPE/PE packaging, which offered similar high-barrier properties but steered the brand in the right direction. With years of experience and great knowledge of the pet food market, Law Print provides a constant finger on the pulse of packaging trends and innovations suited to pet food products. From conventional to recyclable packaging, we don’t believe that there is a “one fits all” solution but always listen to our customer’s needs and supply what works for their product and brand. https://lnkd.in/eYrjx3FA #marketing #casestudy #petfood #sustainablepackaging #ready2recycle

If there is a singular message that our team at Whole Woman Network would love to share this year, especially to equity-denied/underrepresented groups during #blackhistorymonth2024 #iwd2024 it is this: WE ARE STRONGER TOGETHER - A CO-OPERATIVE APPROACH MAKES FOR A BETTER ECOSYSTEM & WORLD. #solidarityeconomy #ubuntu #igwebuike #umoja #ujamaa #atautsikut As we grapple with food insecuity, health access disparities, housing crisis and so many systemic inequalities, perhaps it is time to really interrogate the current systems - how power assymetry, resource extraction and people/labour exploitation are subjugated to serve capital in the hands of a few. And then re-imagine and rebuild new systems, structures, institutions that prioritize people, planet, shared prosperity, and dignity for all, regardless of socio-economic strata. People should not have to take on multiple jobs, sacrifice their health/constantly get burnt out, and still not make ends meet! #CooperativeSpotlight - OCEAN SPRAY AGRICULTURAL CO-OPERATIVE. The Ocean Spray story starts in 1930 when three passionate, independent cranberry growers found the key to expanding the superfruit's success: a single cranberry-growing family! By coming together in ONE COOPERATIVE, Marcus Urann, John Makepeace and Elizabeth Lee worked together to create deliciously innovative products with the fruit they loved. The best part? They continued to grow their cranberry family along the way, which now includes over 700 grower families across North and South America! Once our three founders banded together and launched their first product - Jellied Cranberry Sauce - there was no stopping the Ocean Spray Cooperative. Growers from Wisconsin, Washington and Oregon quickly joined the cooperative, and within its first decade, Ocean Spray became the first producer of cranberry cocktails! Our products were hitting store shelves from coast to coast, and as more years passed, more and more products were created."

💡 "How can we close this impact gap where ‘all growers, everywhere’ are engaged, recognised, rewarded and prepared for the future?" This is the critical question Crispin Argento 🌍🕊✌🏽 is asking in his latest opinion piece for Apparel Insider's newest issue on Natural Fibres. When Brett Mathews reached out to us with the unique opportunity to give Crispin a platform to share his viewpoint as a regular contributor, it was a no-brainer for us! At the current rate of progress, it will take another 160 years to close the gap if we continue to rely primarily on philanthropic funding pools to fund 'sustainable cotton' and traditional trading markets to buy and sell cotton. So, how do we close this impact gap in this century and not the next? Read along to find out how we envision the future of cotton! 👇 You can read the entire Natural Fibres issue by following the link in the comments below, which features cotton experts like Jesse Daystar, Ph.D.. #cotton #farmersempowerment #naturalfibres

The recent grower protest in the Riverland was basically an outpouring of frustration from a small group of people who were expressing the reality that they can't survive at grape prices of sub $200/tonne. As growers, our customers are expecting us to be the stewards of the land, grow high quality/blemish free produce & deliver value. The community expects us to shop and spend money at local businesses. The wine industry demands us to pay levies to fund national, state & regional bodies. This of course is all impossible if growers go broke! For our business, we do have some amazing winemaking customers who value what we grow and pay accordingly. This allows Ricca Terra to invest in technology & equipment to produce high quality grapes....and show the world the true potential of the Riverland. It's impossibly to improve the image of the Australian Wine industry with broken growers.

Moments that matter.✨ A Country Time Lemonade manufacturing incident marked the inception of IDC's, now Greenfield Solutions - IFPC's sister company, recycling business, showcasing a commitment to environmental responsibility. By repurposing 300 truckloads of lemonade mix into valuable sweeteners for animal feed, IDC pioneered the concept of utilizing unused food products. This initiative led to the establishment of Sugar Tree and the implementation of recycling practices at IDC's Dillon plant in Iowa. Over the years, Greenfield Solutions proactive recycling efforts have repurposed millions of pounds of food byproducts annually, totaling five billion pounds by the company's 50th anniversary. This commitment not only benefits businesses but also contributes to community well-being and environmental sustainability, reflecting Greenfield Solutions' core values and fostering a sense of pride. Follow along as we continue to share significant milestones and other fun facts that shaped IFPC into the company we are today in our Moments that Matter social media series. 😁 #Momentsthatmatter #CompanyHistory #IFPCfacts #Ingredients #IFPC

SokoFresh™ founder, Denis Karema recently put pen to paper on some of the key 2023 reflections. Here are some notable insights: 🔹Some of what keeps most farmers awake at night are the uncertainties of demand, fair and timely payment for their produce sales, and the impacts of climate change on production patterns and post-harvest quality preservation. 🔹Solar-powered cold storage infrastructure has been critical for farmers growing perishable produce, and we have seen an uptake of the solution among out-grower schemes and small and medium-sized farmers. 🔹 "What makes SokoFresh’s business model a great deal for farmers is the fact that we address quality management, produce demand, and fair and timely payments, as well as capacity building through strategic partnerships."-Denis Karema.
