‼️ Hurricane Milton's impact is significant enough to force Waffle House, Inc. to close its restaurants in the Tampa area, a crucial data point in assessing disasters. The "Waffle House Index," coined by former FEMA Director Craig Fugate, highlights the severity of a storm. Green means normal operations, yellow indicates limited service, and red signals closures due to severe damage or unsafe conditions. Recent reports on X (formerly Twitter) reveal multiple closures in preparation for #HurricaneMilton. Let's heed the warnings and prioritize safety during this storm! What regional benchmarks could you use in your area of operation? 🌀 🧇 🚨 Read more about the "Waffle House Index": https://lnkd.in/e29pcKuZ

How to maximize your chances of survival if you haven't fled the Hurricane: Get high..on high ground and shelter yourself from the wind or to the top floors of a strong concrete building. Stay away from the windows. Flying objects will cut you to pieces. I have seen a blade of grass penetrate a tree. Then: 1) in a Hotel stay in the central corridor outside of the rooms or 2) Get into a far corner and use the mattress or sofa as a bulletproof vest on a 45* degree angle to the corner. Pray that the mattress protects you from immediate death. If you don't leave then the 'rescuers' will consider you a suicide. The good thing about Hurricanes is that they usually give you enough time to save your life. The same as seeing a train coming.... giving you enough time to get off the tracks. There is no cure for stupid. Reality is a harsh teacher. Generally, smart people survive and stupid people die. During Hurricane Gilberto, the strongest hurricane in History with winds of 300 miles per hour. I experienced every part of the destruction; including, people being blown out to sea like blowing pepper off a plate. Run for your life! 🏠 Attention Florida Residents: Verify Your Contractors After Two Major Storms 🌪️ With Hurricane Milton just around the corner and Hurricane Helene having passed, many Florida homes and businesses are still recovering. It’s more important than ever to ensure you’re using Florida-licensed contractors for any repairs. While many contractors are doing the right thing, storm chasers often appear after major events, operating without proper licenses. Using unlicensed contractors could leave you with little to no recourse if something goes wrong. Protect yourself by verifying contractor licenses and reporting unlicensed activity through the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation here: https://lnkd.in/ecYhP5KX With licensed contractors, you have legal protections, even if the process takes time. Don’t risk your home or business—verify your contractor and ensure your repairs are in the right hands. #AderholdRoofing #LicensedContractors #HurricaneMilton #HurricaneHelene #StormSafety #FloridaResidents #VerifyYourContractor #ProtectYourHome
