🚀 W𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 🤔🎙️ Hardware or software? In my recent conversation on the Suitbro's podcast, Intralogistics Insiders, I was asked one of the classic questions in automation: “Which is more important, hardware or software?” 💡 𝗠𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿? The 4 D’S of Automation, do you know them? - Dull: Uninteresting - so dull, even the crickets refuse to chirp during a joke - Dirty: Covered in dirt - This shirt is so dirty, it looks like it just survived a mud-wrestling match...and lost. - Dangerous: Capable of causing harm - That machine is so dangerous, even Chuck Norris has it on speed dial...to avoid. - Delicate: Easily broken or damaged - That vase is so delicate, a harsh stare might shatter it. Or Requiring careful handling: “Handling my emotions before coffee? Delicate doesn’t even begin to describe it." Whatever your reasoning for considering adapting autoamtion to your existing workforce, it’s common knowledge that automation is adding jobs and not taking from them. However, some folks are still hesitant to make the investment. Why? Well, let’s find out from one of the world leading automation experts, Dick Motley, Director at FANUC America Corporation And with Integrators like Acieta LLC, you’re SURE to WIN! It's amazing to see how much a small team can achieve with the right technology. We regularly meet 2-5 person teams producing more parts and more revenue than teams of 20-30. By keeping a clear focus on the core business, and relying on best-in-class software / hardware partners, Mentis 3D are on track to become the largest bureau on their continent. So often I hear 'we built our own printers' 'we wrote our own software' which sounds cool, but in the meantime other bureaus spent that time focussing on sales, customer service, quality and growth. The industry is inherently full of makers who just love to build - but just be because one can, doesn't mean one should! #3dprinting #additive
⚙️ making job shop manufacturing profitable @DigiFabster. 🔋 supercharged by instant quoting, CRM, and payment capabilities tailored to AM, CNC, laser cutting, and sheet metal shops.
Small yet efficient teams that apply #automation are thriving in modern-day #manufacturing. 💪 Being the first to provide a quote, being transparent with pricing, and offering short lead times can help you stand out from larger competitors quickly. By winning customers initially, you can build your reputation and trust by providing high-quality service, establishing yourself as a shop that customers can rely on. All of this is achievable while remaining small, lean, and efficient in your business operations. 🎤 I recently had the pleasure of hosting Wayne van Staden, a long-time customer of DigiFabster Inc., from Mentis 3D, who shared his experience in a recent Customer Highlights Series. 📺 Watch the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/g6sM5QCK
