𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐃𝐨 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 & 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐓? 🤔 That is the question. It’s your differentiator, it determines your success. Knowing what your customer WANTS is mission critical. Building your entire growth strategy around WANT ensures success. It also is imperative with your team, what do they WANT in order to deliver their utmost effort for your firm’s growth? 📈 Often, determining what is WANTED can be derived from observing what isn’t wanted. Here are three instances from my media hits this week: 🎙️ Streaming- What do viewers WANT? Thank you to Alex Kraemer for having me on Wake Up America to discuss what will happen as a result to the cost of streaming: https://lnkd.in/eYtsXhAc 🎙️ Treatment- What does the Royal Family WANT, how do they & indeed how does everyone WANT to be treated, your clients, your employees, here’s an example of what not to do, learn from Prince Harry’s mistakes & Prince William’s reaction: https://lnkd.in/eumg6GAv 🎙️ Popularity- The opposite is true of Princess Catherine, as popular as ever, there’s immense public support for her health & return to Wimbledon this weekend, learn from her conduct for lessons on what to do: https://lnkd.in/eE8VkwQC #CustomerInsights #GrowthStrategy #EmployeeEngagement #MarketResearch #LeadershipLessons #BusinessGrowth #Newsmax

The 2024 Emmy nominations are in, putting a spotlight on top contenders like FX's "Shogun" and "The Bear." (Our own Jendayi Omowale had an insightful op-ed about fans opinions on the relationship dynamics of the Carmy and Syd in Teen Vogue). Dominating the nominations once again are major streaming platforms Apple TV+, Netflix, and HBO, solidifying their leadership in the industry. However, alongside the excitement are a number of surprising snubs and unexpected omissions, sparking lively conversations among critics and fans alike. This year has been groundbreaking for streaming services breaking records, but it has also highlighted fierce competition and shifting dynamics within the TV landscape. Discover the comprehensive list of nominated shows and get the lowdown on this year's biggest hits, as well as the shows that didn't make the cut. https://lnkd.in/ek6da3xh #Emmys2024 #Television #StreamingWars #Shogun #TheBear #AppleTVPlus #Netflix #HBO #EntertainmentNews #TVSeries #EmmyNominations #AwardsSeason #ContentCreation #PrimeTimeEmmys #CreativeArts #BestDrama #BestComedy #TelevisionAwards #IndustryInsights #EmergingTrends

3 tips for fresh broadcasts through a long season _______________________________________ It’s the middle of your play-by-play season and you’re feeling the grind to find new things to say about your team and it's players. What do you do? A baseball broadcaster told me, “I find myself struggling to mix things up on an everyday basis. I feel like I’ve already said everything there is to say about a player or team. There’s always talking to the players before each game, but it becomes a struggle to talk to every single player and memorize all that information for the broadcast.” Here are three tips for keeping your broadcasts fresh during a long season . . . 1. Talk to one, not all Don’t try to talk to every player before every game. Talk to just one or two before every game. 2. Don’t memorize; organize Don’t try to memorize information. Start a notebook in Microsoft Word or OneNote, then collect and update your player bios throughout the season. Note the circumstances that have helped the team and its players improve and challenges they’ve overcome each week. What were some turning points? 3. Ask players and coaches about teammates People open up more, and often have fun, when you ask them to talk about others instead of themselves. Ask them to describe their teammates and for stories to illustrate those opinions. It can be on and off-field stuff. Doing these things will keep you energized, and your audience entertained, through a long season. The STAA Play-by-Play Pyramid features the building blocks of great play-by-play. Following Netflix's difficulties delivering the Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight, the National Football League (NFL) isn't too concerned with streaming giant's ability to deliver during its two Christmas Day games. NFL Chief Media and Business Officer Brian Rolapp recalls phone calls from Akamai Technologies, the content delivery network supporting the league, that a 2007 NFL Network simulcast on NFL.com featuring the Green Bay Packers vs Dallas Cowboys was breaking the internet with 500,000 concurrent streams. During that NFL.com simulcast, the league experienced technical difficulties including server overloads, inconsistent quality and access problems. For comparison, that 2007 simulcast was 0.7% Netflix's recent event that peaked at 65 million concurrent streams. For more recent examples of the NFL and other sports leagues challenges with live sports streaming, check out my article in the The Streaming Wars in the comments. #NFL #Netflix #OTT #NFLNetwork #NFL.com #streaming #streamingwars #sportsbiz #livesports

In 2014, I was one of a group of screen industry leaders asked by the Institute for Social Research at Swinburne University of Technology to forecast the decade ahead for a report called "Television 2025: Re-thinking Small Screen Media in Australia". As we approach that milestone, with the Australian TV business dramatically transformed and now at a major inflection point, I decided to see how closely my predictions aligned with reality, and envision how TV might look in the decade ahead to 2035. #tv #television #streamers #streaming #broadcast #immersivevideo #content #programs #programmes #ai #artificialintelligence
