The water industry has traditionally been slow to evolve. 💧 ⌛ However, in the last 10 years, the industrial sector’s view on water has shifted dramatically. Once considered an abundant resource, water is now recognized as scarce, costly, and critical (largely due to climate change and rapid population growth). It’s no longer just a utility—water has become a strategic resource that requires careful management. Implementing a cost-effective, sustainable water treatment system isn’t nice to have anymore. It’s a must-have. And water management is not only important for optimizing operations and driving sustainability, but also for gaining a competitive edge. Scott Branum, with 25+ years of experience in the water industry, and Shail Khiyara, Plutoshift’s Founder and CEO, discussed the urgent need for effective, sustainable water management in the industrial space. What do you think about the growing importance of water management? Share your thoughts in the comments.

A good CIWEM (The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management) article. #GIS and #remotesensing (especially #sar which penetrates cloud cover during flood events) are essential analysis tools for #naturebasesolutions such as #naturalfloodmanagement. They need to be part of the drive to improve the evidence base for water companies to take up investment. This is my own peer-reviewed paper on #nfm evaluation using #Sentinel1 data https://lnkd.in/gynKEEpk

Take a view on my new article on the blog of CONSEQRO about GUIDE TO SUSTAINABLE WATER MANAGEMENT: HOW QUERÉTARO IS GETTING READY FOR THE WATER NEEDS OF 2050 The faster Querétaro grows, the more sustainable water resources will be in demand. The region is expected to see a massive increase in population and major industrial development, which will increase the pressure on both the water supply and wastewater treatment systems serving the area in the coming years and decades, while at the same time severely testing its ability to protect the environment. Sustainable water management is, thus, not only a requirement but an integral pillar of the 2050 vision for Querétaro.
