Corporal Corporal is a military rank in use by the armed forces of many countries. It is also a police rank in some services. The rank is usually the lowest ranking non-commissioned officer. In some militaries, the rank of corporal nominally corresponds to commanding a section or squad of soldiers. The word is a contraction from the medieval Italian phrase capo corporale (transl. head of a body [of soldiers]). The rank of corporal, which falls between lance-corporal and sergeant is used by the British Army, Royal Marines, and Royal Air Force. The badge of rank is a two-bar chevron (also known as "stripes", "tapes", or "hooks"). A corporal's role varies between regiments; but, in the standard infantry role, a corporal commands a section, with a lance-corporal as second-in-command (2ic). When the section is split into fire teams, they command one each. In the Royal Armoured Corps, a corporal commands an individual tank. Their duties therefore largely correspond to those of staff sergeants in the United States Army and corporals are often described as the "backbone" of the British Army. A common nickname for a corporal is a "full screw"

1. There are 345MM citizens in the US 2. There are 1.3MM active duty military personnel. 3. That means .4% of the population serves in the military. 4. 9 out of 10 people serving in the military are in support roles meaning only 10% of the 1.3MM see combat. 5. That means .04% of the population engage with the enemy and risk their lives so the rest of us don't have to. 6. There are 18MM veterans in the US or 6% of the population. 7. That's why we have Veterans Day. To recognize the very few who do all of the heavy lifting so the rest of us don't have to.

DO YOU KNOW the difference between certain patriotic holidays? For example, what is the difference between Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Armed Forces Day? These three holidays should not be confused. Memorial Day is a federal holiday that remembers and mourns people who have died in U.S. military service. Veterans Day, also a federal holiday, honors the service of all U.S. military veterans, both living and deceased. Armed Forces Day, meanwhile, celebrates everyone currently serving in the U.S. armed forces. Unlike Memorial Day and Veterans Day, Armed Forces Day is not an official federal holiday. #Wagnerrealty #armedforcesday2024 #militaryservice #armedforces

Looking forward to listening to this episode of the War Room Podcast. Also sharing for those that may have an interest in Talent Management and the US Military. #War_Room #TalentManagement #Military #USArmy #DoD #Podcast
#TalentManagement is easy - put the right person, in the right job that makes them happy & meets all the services needs - it's just that simple. But it's not, especially when you're talking about 2M+ people in the U.S. military. #WAR_ROOM https://bit.ly/4cgJK6A
