A lot of people are talking about Twitter/X vs Bluesky vs Threads. I'm not going to bore you with a breakdown of why one is better than the others especially as I know it's probably articulated better somewhere else here. I will say, however, that I'm fascinated by human behavior and network effects. What makes people jump? Why people don't want to jump alone and how no matter what happens in the world, we desperately cling to connection. If you want to watch Bluesky grow in real-time, @ natalie.sh on Bluesky has created a counter. You can find it here: bcounter.nat.vg

This has been on my mind for the last couple of weeks and I've jumped on Bluesky as well. From a marketing perspective, is it time now to ask clients to jump on Bluesky or has it not reached that stage yet as a platform where small businesses need to have their presence on it? Thoughts?

Post frequency dings your reach on here at some point, so I’m just trying to rediscover which app I can push all my random thoughts too. Personal and work. Idk I suppose I’m part of the problem, I’m just underwhelmed by the options? But for you as someone with a big following, don’t you have the itch to migrate it?

BlueSky feels like Twitter 2009 right now. Basic tools, some fascinating people, good conversations, but it’s a pretty small tribe. Hoping the next few months will see it reach some sort of scale like Twitter 2014. And then hopefully find a way to sit right there without the bots and rage bait etc. that overtook Twitter/X over the last decade. It’s so refreshing to see my timeline full of interesting links from people again, and I hope they really keep that openness.

I used to LOVE Twitter, especially in my pre-marketing days of being a reporter. I joined Threads when it launched out of curiosity and have used it mostly for “personal” thoughts rather than professional posts. I finally jumped on BlueSky and do love the old-school Twitter feel of it. I'm just exhausted in advance thinking about building another online presence from scratch. 😫

Twitter was my favorite. Threads have many flaws. Now Twitter is banned in my country so moved to Bluesky. It has old Twitter vibe and I love it.

Twitter always shows me some really dark news or videos, their algorithm changed very much

I loved Twitter. I hated X. So, I left for something better.
