Ok... now having seen the Jaguar Type 00, I have even more thoughts on the Jaguar ad campaign. The car is beautiful, no doubt, but the campaign still hurts it more than it helps. Yes, I know the "but everyone is talking about the brand" crowd will show up in my comments, but the campaign distracts from a beautiful design. Sleek and futuristic with a hat tip to the models of the 30s, the car speaks for itself and doesn't need to have a "if Richard Attenborough narrated the entrance of an art gallery" style narrative. https://lnkd.in/eEtc77Mx

It’s giving: ‘Trying too hard’ but make it a car commercial.

I want to fall in love with Jaguar like I did when I was 10. I really do. And yes, this is a gorgeous car. But as a concept, we will never see it in this form in production. What will we see in the showroom and when? Oh, and this video. No one asked for a overwrought self-important 9 minute video. As Bon Jovi would say “Don’t bore us, get to the chorus”

Haven't heard much insightful commentary like this on the soap opera that has been the Jaguar saga. But that's mostly because 99% of the commentary is from white men waxing nostalgic
