It's an indescribable feeling to finally hold the long-awaited book in my hands after years of writing, correcting, completing, clarifying, checking, and correcting again! I would like to thank everyone who contributed to its creation, especially my supervisors, Pawel Rodak and Ulrich Schmid! As a person running a small press publishing house on the side, one occasionally receives (good) submissions from poets who have had an entire A4 sheet in front of them while playing with their manuscript. They've written very long lines they hope will stay a single line. They've played around with typography. Put spaces between the words. And as I sometimes inflict a certain amout of violence upon these poor poems if they actually make it to publicaton, I think about how culture is shaped by logistics and the circumstances of how it is spread. Like how much smaller than an A4 sheet a book generally is and how we still want text which is comforably large and easy to read.
