Could SHERP be produced in the Baltic FEZ? According to Simonas Petrulis, Head of the Baltic FEZ, there would definitely be a place for such a factory, all the necessary infrastructure is already prepared, it remains to wait for specific decisions and agreements. "It is too early to speak before the decision-makers have reached a final agreement.  As an infrastructure provider, we have it, 20 ha in several places", emphasizes S. Petrulis. The #EnCLOD project is already in the news! 📰 The project has caught the attention of the Czech media. 🇨🇿 Following a press release about EnCLOD, and what it is intended to implement in the next 30 months, some project partners were contacted by two #Czech radio stations (Český rozhlas Olomouc, Český rozhlas Plus) and the most-read online newspaper (idnes.cz) for an interview. Jaroslav Burian, Head of the project team at Palacký University, provided reporters with detailed information about the project's aim and its benefits for the residents of #Olomouc. The interviews discussed the issue of #urban heat islands and explained the basic principle of creating a sensor network that will measure a variety of indicators in the city of Olomouc, primarily the number of cars and temperature. Additionally, the important concept of providing collected data to the public as #opendata was also presented. Have you heard of ‘product-as-a-service?’ If not, it might be just about time. For the industry to become more responsible, we need new and alternative business models that are not just good for profit, but also for people and the planet. A great example of this is our collaboration with Semco Maritime concerning equipment for offshore installations within the conventional energy industry. As the equipment is not needed permanently, but only during specific phases of the project, Semco Maritime has opted to hire the equipment from Mouritsen A/S rather than buying it. This means that Semco Maritime does not need to invest in new, expensive equipment, but is always guaranteed the right equipment at the right time. And we make sure that the equipment always fits the job and has the necessary documentation. All in all, it's a great example of where we as an industry are headed thanks to upcoming business models like ‘product-as-a-service’.
