Together we are stronger! That is our belief! Hence, participating in cross-border development projects is a part of our business method. One of these projects is #SPIES – Shore Power In European Shipping. SPIES aims to improve the use of on-shore power supply (OPS) in European inland shipping by presenting a policy recommendation plan to key inland waterway transport stakeholders, to ensure improved and open access to OPS for the European skippers in and beyond the North Sea Region. Our role in the project consortium is, among other things, identifying and communicating with local stakeholders in Denmark, Norway and Sweden that are relevant for the further analysis work, led by POM Limburg. Lars Jøker and Palle Skyum take the lead on our behalf. In September, we had the honour of hosting the midterm meeting for the consortium partners and visiting a local OPS technology supplier PowerCon. The visit gave a relevant understanding of the present market for OPS solutions and how the technology has evolved. If we want to speed up the spread of OPS among the skippers and carriers in the northsea region and beyond, a joint cross boarder standard must be a reasonable solution. Thats is what SPIES is about💪
