Who owns your story and your narrative? "When Latinos tell their story, they are 0.5x as likely to be related to crime, and 3.5x more likely to be about family." The latest McKinsey & Company report on Latinos in Hollywood emphasizes the importance of representation to drive billions of additional revenue, as well as to portray the power of our cultural values versus perpetuating bias and stereotypes. This had me reflecting on the importance of owning our narrative at work and other spaces, the relevance of speaking up to share our perspectives and push for our agenda, and the importance of making our way to the tables where decisions are made. Data shows that if we leave open spaces or remain silent, bias and stereotypes will take that space, in our detriment. Our allies are our key partners in fixing this unsustainable situation, and they can help us change the bias and stereotype towards the Latino community with simple actions: by immersing themselves in understanding our cultural values and economic power, by understanding that leading differently than other communities does not make us less effective, and by using their power, voice, and social capital to help close the gap of Latino representation. We are so much more than what you see about us in the movies, and our increasing power and economic impact is so significant, that leaders who hire, support, and develop Latino talent possess a significant competitive advantage. Attn: World Class Companies. This is a call out to help us Latin communities. For now I’d like to attend this event to inspire folks, but even I’ve been asking for help too. I’m the daughter of a Army Veteran I come from a fully disabled family. I’m disabled myself. (Though I don’t like to admit it). I can build applications. I can transfer Cyber knowledge. I need funds to do a little more, so if anyone would like CyberAdvisory, AI, Mental Health Services from me, let me know I don’t like to put blockers in front of myself. When others have limited beliefs of me or theirselves, is troublesome to me. That’s why I’m here. I sometimes have to ask for help, though society will tell me to be the butterfly to serve myself. That’s NOT how you support a disabled person. This butterfly can figure a lot of things. There are many butterflies in front of you now. I’m trying to hold up a disabled family, and myself too. You probably noticed my vibrations are down. It was a difficult week and sometimes I have to prevent my own burnout, by pacing myself, and taking care of myself. So when you Marketing, Executives and Coaches can respond, I might just give you some free mental coaching too. Understand I’m also trying to shine a light on you too, but when you worry about your competitive edge, it’s not so great for progress. I can do more, when you open yourselves up to more. If life is out of sorts, and Caregivers are continually falling out on us, we have to interview new ones, it takes our time. Wasting time, is something Caregivers tire of too. I’ve got ideas for you to do things better. I see a lot of people burning out. Stop and take care of yourself, please. There’s no way around it. I pushed myself, then had a flare up and had to check myself back into red light therapy, where it heals my cells from the inside, then vibrational ultrasound, high powered stem treatment. Often times it just connective tissue issues. If someone needs help mentally or physically, please reach out. There’s a mindset that I hold to counter this. There are some physical things that breathing won’t do for me. I want to educate people differently. 1) I take care of myself. For all those companies that say they support the disabled. Let’s see it. Cause it’s going to help my Executives, future CISOs, and everyone else up the chain. 2) Once I feel better, I get back on the horse. I’m still stacking my skills, with an open mind trying to get others to ditch their limited beliefs in Cyber, and at least encourage folks to find their purpose. It’s hard to run a business as a disabled person, but I’m here, asking for people to keep sharing their wisdoms, as I try to reach my goals too. I hope I’m inspiring you now, to open yourself up to more. I believe in myself, that I can add value, though others might be slow to see my value. Action: Read a book today please. Take the mental health day that you require.

What is the Latino Difference? We get our hands dirty. Latinos come by honest work honestly, and love the satisfaction of a job well done. The hands that continue to build America aren't afraid to get into the messy middle of problems and work until they're solved. We think outside the box. We've never been in it. Unlimited by the status quo, we have fresh perspective. Our chameleon-like adaptation skills give us ideas born from the best of each culture and the boldness to make something new. We do it for all of us. Latinos know that we're better together. While myopic visionaries create a future for one person or company to succeed, we create room for communities, families, and individuals to thrive–all of them. #Latino #latinoleadership #IthacaStreetPartners

#ICYMI Unlocking the Potential of Latino Leadership in Colorado Despite the significant economic contributions Latinos make to Colorado’s economy—an estimated $48 billion annually—their representation in corporate boardrooms is far from proportional. The recently released The Colorado Boards: Latino Inclusion Summary report detailed Latinos hold only 4% of board seats across the state's largest publicly traded companies. Even more startling, 76.4% of Fortune 1000 companies in Colorado have no Latino representation at all. Studies have repeatedly shown that companies with diverse boards outperform those without in areas such as financial returns, decision-making, and innovation. Likewise, Colorado businesses have an opportunity to include valuable Latino perspectives that could drive growth and strengthen their competitive edge.
