Reflecting on an inspiring #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek thanks to Mark Rowland and the team at the Mental Health Foundation (MHF). 👏 The theme and language of MOVEMENT felt really positive and inclusive. It's something we can all relate to and associate with proactive mental wellbeing. However it can be hard if we think of movement in terms of fitness, strength, gyms, sports, clubs, events, etc. The MHF research paper below highlighted our access to equipment and facilities, our weather and costs as significant barriers to those goals. https://lnkd.in/eBFWPCUQ But if we think about movement in terms of breaking everyday sedentary behaviors in today's online and on-demand lifestyle, then perhaps it's here we can make the biggest different to physical and mental health risks. What small bad habits could you, your team and family break and develop into positive mind and movement habits? From mindful walks, truly taking in your environment, conscious of body and thought, to simple #atomichabit hacks like leaving the TV remote in a place you have to get up and move to reach. The Mental Health Foundation offer some great tips here https://lnkd.in/eFJ8ShJd As does MHFA England® here for the workplace as part of #empowerhalfhour https://lnkd.in/ebgHHU2f And for some further inspiration, why not listen to Simon Blake's new MHFA podcast here with some great guests sharing their lived experiences https://lnkd.in/e2aY2skS Here's to finding what works for you, that you can stick to and enjoy!

This Men’s Health Week, let’s focus on the comprehensive health of men, extending beyond physical fitness to encompass mental health, regular medical check-ups, active lifestyles, and open communication. Mind Matters: Prioritizing mental health is essential. Seeking help when feeling overwhelmed demonstrates strength, not weakness. Body Care: Consistent check-ups and physical activity are vital. Whether through a morning run, a gym session, or a simple walk, every effort contributes to a healthier lifestyle. Emotional Connection: Building strong emotional bonds and discussing feelings are fundamental. Supportive relationships have a significant impact on overall well-being. During this period, my colleagues Ervin Blazicevic, Ezekiel Sim and I are committing to 10,000 steps per day, abstaining from alcohol, and completing one book. Let’s unite this week to challenge the stigma surrounding men’s health and foster an environment where men feel empowered to prioritize their well-being. Together, we can make a meaningful difference. #MensHealthWeek #Wellness #HealthAndWellness
