In collaboration with Naya Labs, Cairo, we designed the Perceptual Artwork, focusing on achieving a cohesive Design-to-Fabrication process to create the desired perceptual imagery. Project Highlights: 1. Parametric Design: The image was layered 6 times to achieve the depth effect. 2. DfMA Implementation: By integrating Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) principles, we streamlined the fabrication and assembly processes, which significantly reduced time and minimized errors. 3. Precision Fabrication: The fabric was meticulously laid out on the cutting canvas, and a fabrication stencil was developed to achieve precise cuts. 👉 Check out more images from the project: https://shorturl.at/ziAPM #DfMA #DesignFabrication #ParametricDesign #ComputationalDesign #Grasshopper3D

#Design #Economy Laser engraving technology helps make it easier for you to turn a drawing into a physical object in a short period of time. In order to maximize the reproduction of your design and create a better physical object, you should start by making a qualified design original. Traditionally, design originals are rendered on drawings, and […] https://lnkd.in/gAjhviN4

This fascinating work on "caustic design" caught my attention - the application of a backpropagation algorithm with Mitsuba to derive a height map on the surface of a slab of glass which when illuminated from behind generates caustics which can reproduce any desired image (such as a work of art) as a projection onto a surface in the foreground. A very elegant approach which should in principle be generalizable to other inverse problems.

🌟 Excited to share my latest project from university: Inhabitable Walls 🌟 I've been working on exploring digital and analogue techniques of production, focusing on creating "Inhabitable Walls" in a landscape setting. This project has been a journey of creativity and technical exploration, guided by the principles outlined by Simon Unwin in "An Architecture Notebook: Wall." Key Highlights: 🎨 Integrating 3D modelling in Rhino, diagramming in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop 🏛️ Physical model making using various fabrication techniques 🌿 Incorporating parametric procedures to depict ideas, form, structure, site, plants, and people 📐 Developing design options through conceptual model making 🖥️ Presenting a portfolio that reflects my design process and proposal I invite you to check out my portfolio detailing the journey from precedent analysis to detailed elevations. Your feedback and insights would be greatly appreciated as I continue to refine my skills in architecture and design. #ArchitectureStudent #DesignPortfolio #InhabitableWalls #DigitalDesign #AnalogTechniques #Rhino3D #AdobeIllustrator #AdobePhotoshop #ModelMaking #ParametricDesign #CreativeProcess

A 3D visualisation gives architectural designers the opportunity to show their clients exactly what is being proposed. Reducing misunderstandings, as the 3D model is millimetre accurate and can show materials and finishes of the proposal. If there are any questions or uncertainties about a design, additional images can be rendered showing a proposal from a different angle. This gives both the designer and the end user the chance to see a proposal and make sure it will be fit for purpose once constructed. It is this little window into the future, which makes 3D visualisation the perfect visual aid for designers to communicate with their clients and stakeholders, so that they can reduce the risk of miscommunication and errors on a project. #ArchVis

Is hand sketching still relevant in the digital era? 🤔 Absolutely. In fact, it’s thriving as a creative cornerstone of modern architecture! While tools like #CAD and #BIM bring precision, hand sketching offers spontaneity, flexibility and a personal touch that no software can replicate. The real magic happens when tradition meets innovation—combining the intuitive artistry of sketches with the precision of digital tools. Discover why hand sketching remains a timeless skill in #architecture and how it’s evolving alongside technology ➡️ https://lnkd.in/d36hWe9s
