Wait, let me get this right. The European Union wants the President of Georgia to relinquish the sovereignty of Georgia to them and non-profit organizations governed by the European Union. In exchange, the President of Georgia is expected to take up arms against Russia, which has been a significant ally for many years. This could potentially turn Georgia into another conflict zone like Ukraine, and allow the European Union to colonize Georgia. I feel deeply for the citizens of Georgia, who may not realize the gravity of what they are protesting for. God help Georgia and their president. It seems like they are on the brink of a crisis similar to what happened in Ukraine, where the CIA and Joe Biden supported the imposition of Zelensky. Has there not been enough death? It appears that the European Union is more interested in power and money than in the well-being of non-European nations.
The October 26 parliamentary elections in Georgia presented an opportunity for citizens to elect representatives who share their vision for Georgia’s future. However, IRI's Electoral Observation Mission found that a legal framework and regulatory practices that hindered genuine electoral competition, misuse of public resources by the ruling government, the targeting of civil society; obstruction of opposition parties, systematic voter intimidation, and lack of public confidence and trust in institutions contributed to an election that was fundamentally flawed. What are the gaps in the 1999 Constitution (as amended) that have made it difficult to have credible local government elections? How can these gaps be filled? These are the questions that our Executive Director Samson Itodo asks and answers in this opinion article, which also argues against the calls to abolish state independent electoral commissions in order to have credible local government elections. https://lnkd.in/dE_UDEts #lgelectionreforms

They will make you believe that there were no elections because they are dictators. But in reality, once the vote is done, and citizens have chosen their most popular leaders, the okupyers made a list and proceeded to arrest them. “tell me who your leaders are, and the next parliamentary session will be in jail” Read about it below, in the section called conduct: https://lnkd.in/dTYWnFuw

If there is no executive interference from the governors and there is administrative and financial autonomy that ensures that SIECs are well resourced, we will start to see a marked improvement in the conduct of local government elections. NILGEC is a misadventure. The National Assembly should assist SIECs to wrestle their administrative and financial autonomy from the governors by amending the relevant sections of the Nigerian Constitution to effect this.

We share the people's thoughts and angush about the lack of democracy in Nigeria. Our coalition of Civil Society Organizations "Local Government Autonomy Network in Kano State and "Alliances of Democrats" strongly Advocates the need to oppose the undemocratic trend taking hold of the Nation today. With so much self-serving politicians in office only satiating their personal whelms. The masses are hunger, the government service supply sectors healthcare, education, and regulatory roles are almost none existent. No credible elections, and even when elections are held there's no transparency, fairness and accountability. Local Government Concils are run by unelected officials and unqualified proxies!! No rules are operational, the level of decay is getting worst every day. The regulatory and State control system is being eroded by the day with no hope for redemption insight. #CSO, #LocalPressureGroups and INGOs must rise up to #ourdemocracynow Nigeria democracy is a individual investment platform for the strongest and most daring selfish aggrandisers to reap what they have not sown by arm twisting us #inthenameofdemocracy #MacArthur and our intervention/#UN agencies will have to realign It's policy and practice to achieve these.

"Fair and regular elections form the foundation of a democracy. How elections are planned and executed must not only be transparent, but be seen to be so, hence the importance of election observation. Ultimately, the legitimacy and credibility of a government rests upon this." Hon. Dr Paul Otiende Amollo, MP., LLB, LLM, Litt.D, CPM. (Member of the National Assembly of Kenya) launches CPA UK's Preliminary Statement, detailing initial findings of its Election Assessment Mission for the 2024 UK General Election.
