ThermoSeed, a groundbreaking invention by Kenneth Alness, offers farmers a sustainable, chemical-free solution for seed pest control using heat treatment. Unlike traditional chemical methods, ThermoSeed uses blasts of steam to eliminate pests while keeping seeds healthy, perfectly aligning with organic farming practices. Proven successful in Sweden and Norway, it also brings environmental benefits and greater ease of handling, with no harmful dust or costly disposal issues. Agricultural cooperatives have reported reduced chemical use, highlighting ThermoSeed's competitiveness and practical benefits. Now, Alness aims to expand ThermoSeed to smaller markets worldwide, especially in Asia, making sustainable farming more accessible and driving global agricultural innovation. #TALRadioEnglish #ThermoSeed #SustainableFarming #OrganicAgriculture #PestControlInnovation #GlobalAgriTech #TouchALife #TALRadio #TALBlogs

Sudangrass, a warm-season grass, is valued as a cover crop for its rapid growth and biomass production. Its deep root system improves soil structure and reduces compaction, enhancing water infiltration and nutrient uptake. Sudangrass's dense foliage shades the soil surface, suppressing weed growth effectively. Additionally, sudangrass residues contribute organic matter to the soil upon decomposition, enriching soil fertility and promoting microbial activity. As a versatile and fast-growing cover crop, sudangrass offers multiple benefits to sustainable agriculture practices. Best planting season: Late spring to early summer. #covercrops #covercropping #sustainablefarming #futurefarming #soilhealth #orizonagriculture #regenerativeagriculture

New blog post I wrote for Indogulf BioAg! Since I got into agriculture and food-tech I started learning about the wide potential use of different species of yeast( and genetically modified yeasts) besides its traditional use in brewing, that I did in the past and of course baking! Fungi known as brewers/bakers yeast ( Saccharomyces cerevisiae) has capability to absorb heavy metals like lead, arsenic and mercury from contaminated soils. Research has shown that S. cerevisiae can transform and detoxify polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) through enzymatic oxidation. It also mobilises phosphorus in the soil into a bioavailable form through releasing organic acids and chelation of cations freeing the phosphorus ions to be absorbed through the rhizosphere full article here: https://lnkd.in/dQwW4JUz #EnzymaticDegradation #Bioremediation #Fungi #Saccharomyces #PhosphorusSolubilizingBacteria #PollutantBreakdown #PAHDegradation #Biodynamic #SustainableAgriculture #HeavyMetalRemoval #WastewaterTreatment #OrganicPollutantDegradation
Saccharomyces cerevisiae—widely known as brewers/ baker’s yeast—offers powerful benefits beyond food and drink production . It plays a crucial role in bioremediation, absorbing heavy metals like lead and mercury, degrading organic pollutants, and treating industrial wastewater. In agriculture, it boosts soil health by improving nutrient availability and promoting fermentation and a healthy rhizosphere. Preparing for the future sustainably! Deep water culture is a highly sustainable, environmentally conscious method of growing plants. This system improves the cost and output to harvest plants and uses less water to grow fresh, nutritious plants compared to traditional farming methods. Using hydroponics, farmers and gardeners can expect more bountiful harvests without having to invest in more work, energy, or supplies to do so. https://bit.ly/3uSmr24

We are very proud to announce, that we have closed our Pre-Seed Round 🔥 ! This is a big step on our mission to #reinvent farming with our functional seed coating made with #biochar, which brings everything plants need, directly to the seed. The effect and impact is tremendous: 📈 Increasing yields through the addition & combination of active ingredients such as #biostimulants #mycorrhiza and other growth enabling micro organisms. 📉 Reducing & substituting mineral fertilizers which have been extremely harmful to our climate and environment. 💲 Saving costs for farmers as nutrients and growth enablers are all applied during the seeding phase, minimizing further operational steps. This means less fuel and personell. 💧 Providing additional water storage through #biochar and an integrated #hydrogel to improve drought resilience. 🌍 Protecting our soils through less compaction and more #humus. We want to thank Ingo Schütte for his trust in us as founders as well as our platform technology to change agriculture for the better.
