2024 Has been a record-breaking year for cyber startups! In the face of unprecedented challenges, Israel’s cybersecurity industry is still thriving! This year the sector raised $4 billion across 75 transactions, more than double the total raised in 2023. Israeli #cybersecurity startup Gem Security is set to be acquired by Israeli cloud security company Wiz for a cash purchase of $350 million. It was less than two years ago when Gem Security was formed. With this deal, Team8, an Israeli #investment fund that was one of Gem Security’s primary investors, will have exited three companies for a total of $1.1 billion in the last five months; Talon and Dig Security, the other two, were sold to Palo Alto Networks for $457 million and $295 million, respectively. According to Crunchbase, there has been an alarming 51% drop in cybersecurity funding during Q3 🤯 Investors are clearly tightening their wallets for earlier stagers so #startups need to focus on demonstrating market traction and results whilst staying lean and efficient.    With less funding available, startups must optimise operations and be strategic in how they scale, whether through internal or external financing.
