🚀 Huawei's new Trifold Phone - the Mate XT 📲 In the shadow of the iPhone 16, we've seen the launch of Huawei's new Mate XT phone - 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝’𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥-𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐝, 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞-𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞. Huawei has been teasing about the release of this phone for weeks, and now we have it. Chinese retailer Vmall reported 𝟑.𝟕 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 before pricing was announced. First off, 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞! 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠: ◼ 256GB storage model - 19,999 yuan (about $2,809 USD) that’s roughly $300 more than a brand-new 16-inch MacBook Pro! ◼ 512GB - 21,999 yuan (about $3,089 USD) ◼ 1 Terabyte - 23,999 yuan (about $3,370 USD) 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 The Mate XT features an inverse dual-hinge design that folds in a “Z” shape, allowing it to be used in a variety of formats. The OLED display measures 6.4-inches when fully collapsed as a traditional single-screen device. When fully unfolded, that display increases to 10.2-inches (2,232 x 3,184) and can still be used when partially unfurled in a smaller 7.9-inch configuration. To give you a visual example - think of a phone that unfolds like a napkin. I believe it is also one of the thinnest phones to date - including it's claim-to-fame as the world's first ever tri-fold phone. 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐬: ◾ There’s a triple camera setup located on the rear that consists of a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide, and a 12-megapixel periscope camera. The hole-punch selfie camera on the front is 8 megapixels, and located on the left-most screen when the device is fully unfolded. ◾ The device comes with a 5,600mAh battery and supports 66W of wired charging or 50W wirelessly. 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐮𝐚𝐰𝐞𝐢: Huawei is a Chinese multinational corporation headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong. It was founded in 1987 and has since grown to become one of the world's largest telecommunications equipment manufacturers. Huawei has deployed its products and solutions in over 170 countries, serving more than one-third of the world's population. Huawei continues to innovate and expand its product offerings - one such example is Huawei partnership with Seres Group to create the AITO brand. The New USB-C Law in the EU In 2022, the European Commission decided that by 2025, mobile phones sold in the EU must come with a USB-C charging port. All 27 EU member countries were required to adopt the directive into their national laws by December 28.
