Do you love your family? 🥰 I suspect Yes, of course (DUH Desma!) So technically, I wouldn't have to tell you what to do or not to do when it comes to your family, right? Why? Because, you will always naturally act in the best interest of your family!! Now, here's where this post will start to make a little more sense. When hiring talent, look for people who are or can fall in 💗 with your brand! Why? Same logic applies i.e. because all their efforts will be in the interest of your brand (without you always having to tell them) Simple. Right? -------------------------------------------------------- P.S: I really didn't plan to post this 💗'ey post on Valentine's. I promise.

"I was going to ask about the company culture, but I've seen your LinkedIn..." This is what one of our amazing clients told us about what a candidate had to say. They are interviewing for people to join the team, and of course, company culture is important when looking for your next big role, and this is where social media can help. Because social media isn't just about promoting your business and generating leads, it's also about appealing to those top candidates and encouraging people to want to work with you. By showing what you and the team get up to and giving a sneak peek to what goes on behind the scenes, you aren't just showing you're a business that cares, you're showing what it's like to work with you. Are you promoting more than just your services online? Are you showing what goes on behind the scenes too? 👀 FYI, we're proud of our morgenmuffel. She was rocking the 'poodle hair' and decided to just hit record, few years ago she would avoid videos... let alone doing it with 'naked face' and 'poodle hair'.😃 #SocialMediaMarketing #BusinessGrowth #WorkplaceCulture #SocialJems

Dr. Maike Neuhaus shares Kelly's story, a marketing manager who faced consistent criticism from her boss. Kelly tried to meet her boss's expectations, but it led to self-doubt and anxiety. Her boss was gaslighting her, causing her to question her perception and memory. This led her to adopt a self-sacrificing 'fawn' response, neglecting her own needs and values. To recover, Kelly had to recognize the issue and understand that her boss's behavior was not acceptable. Dr. Neuhaus helped Kelly identify the pattern of behavior causing her distress and start recovering from the emotional damage. Read article here: https://lnkd.in/g3R-gh-3

Can we just talk about those cringe-worthy "gratitude" posts for a second? You know the ones - where people try to keep it real but end up sounding like they're spouting white noise? Case in point: stumbled upon a post from someone in our industry, going on about the "trials" of 2023 and how they're oh-so-grateful. Oh, and they casually mention laying off dozens of people. Woe is me (not woe is the person losing their job). But that was the "raw" and "honest" part, because guess what? It’s OK because the team had so much fun along the way! Well that's alright then. What an inspiring message. Let's be real here: making redundancies isn't exactly a barrel of laughs. Been there, done that, and it's anything but fun. No high-fives, just heartache. Not something to take advantage of on social media. But apparently, some people think they're being authentic when really, they're just manufacturing noise. Newsflash: trying too hard and making foolish statements just makes you look like a clueless clown. You don't have to tell us everything. You don't have to give us life affirmations. Sure, you'll have your little fan club cheering you on, but most of us just think you are a cockwomble. So, if you want genuine personal branding, skip the manufactured rubbish and go see Arthur. Trust me, he's the real deal. #CutTheCrap #ArthurKnowsHisStuff #PersonalBranding Oh and he is going to be at the #recruitmentagencyexpo where he will be 🆃🅷🅴 go-to expert in personal branding there.

I couldn't resist drawing an analogy between consumer businesses and creative agencies to the dynamic of a romantic partnership as it's Valentine's week. They often have a love-hate relationship akin to two partners in love. Consumer brands rely on creative agencies to bring their ideas to life and elevate their marketing campaigns. However, this partnership can sometimes be strained by differences in vision or communication. Here are a few essential factors necessary for a successful partnership from both the brand and agency perspectives. Take a look here: https://lnkd.in/d-QAjJY6

Have you ever felt misunderstood? Chatting with a client today about feeling misunderstood and how that is affecting her personal brand in her workplace got me to thinking about who else is misunderstood. Snakes are often misunderstood. We often associate the negative characteristics of untrustworthy and deceptive with a snake. Rarely do we associate their positive characteristics with snakes and this can make them misunderstood. Snakes shed their skin symbolising transformation and rebirth. This represents businesses pivoting, brand evolution, rejuvenation and growth within people and in businesses. Why is it with some humans, businesses, brands or animals we focus on the negative and not the whole? When we look at the positive attributes of a snake and how we can apply them to growth - a snake is a person who encourages employees to embrace change and renewal, learning from past experiences (shedding of skin) to grow and evolve personally and professionally (new skin). The reason for my post (for anyone who has got this far) is to look at people around you and ask yourself is there anyone I am misunderstanding? My suggestion is to seek out those you may misunderstand and ask them out for a coffee. Look at this as an opportunity to be curious about another and seek to understand them better. You may be surprised. You may make a new friend. Be curious. Seek to understand others.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in my career: Don’t market to yourself and don’t market to marketers. Your personal bias doesn’t matter. What *does* matter is what’s right for the consumer. Early in my career, I was caught up in how I felt about the creative, the product, and even the types of people who became customers. I cared what other marketers thought about my work. But here’s the truth: That’s just your ego talking. At the end of the day, your sexy portfolio doesn’t really matter either. Yes it’s fun when your personal tastes align with what works, but that’s not what will grow a brand or drive lasting value. Instead, celebrate the people who already love your brand, not the ones you wish would.
