It’s C-Section Awareness Month!!! Cesarean birth is the surgical delivery of a baby through a cut (incision) made in the mother’s abdomen and uterus. This is usually done when a healthcare provider believes it is the safer delivery option for the baby, mother or both individuals. Though this is the primary reason, some moms opt for a c-section rather than a vaginal delivery. Follow us for more information on C-Sections and how to manage them. #csection #csectiondelivery #csectionmom #pelvichealth #pelvicpt #pelvicfloorphysicaltherapy

If you’re still offering only unilateral night splints, it’s time to rethink your approach. In my practice, switching to bilateral night splints has been a game changer. Patients appreciate the option to treat both sides simultaneously, and it’s led to a noticeable increase in compliance. Why does it work? Simple: Comfort and convenience. Patients who struggle to alternate between sides find it easier to commit to wearing bilateral splints. This means they’re more likely to stick to their treatment plan, leading to better outcomes. By offering both options, you give your patients the flexibility to choose what works best for them. The result? Happier patients and improved recovery rates. Curious to learn more? In wound care, I’ve learned that what we feel with our hands is just as important as what we see with our eyes. For darker skin tones, visual clues like redness or bruising often don’t appear the way textbooks describe. An area of injury may feel warmer, firm or boggy, even if the color changes are subtle or absent altogether. When I discovered Mind the Gap during residency, it felt affirming—it validated my personal experience and showed how critical it is to combine careful observation, touch, and an understanding of diverse skin tones in patient care. For those of us in healthcare, the work is never done. Recognizing the unique ways skin conditions present on different tones isn’t just a skill—it’s a commitment to better care for every patient. What’s one resource or insight that has helped you care for patients with diverse skin tones? #WoundCare #SkinToneDiversity #MindTheGap #PatientCare #LifelongLearning
