The hydrogen industry is rapidly evolving. Over the last four years, efforts from key decision-makers and governments have led to undeniable progress 🤝 Projects in the global pipeline have grown by a factor of seven since 2020. Clean hydrogen has gained unique momentum during this time, with a huge increase in projects reaching final investment decision (FID) - resulting in $75 billion of committed capital. As outlined in a recent report from Hydrogen Council, these wins are significant, but so is the investment gap we still must close to reach 2030 climate targets. Continued collaboration and resources are vital to pushing beyond the breakthrough. 🔗 Visit our RE:imagining Energy hub to read Hydrogen Insights 2024 and discover more expert insights, case study films, and extended interviews: https://lnkd.in/e7ZEK88F

Everything and everyone is connected. We are inextricably part of nature. We are not separated from it. I have always been fascinated by the connection between diffrent sectors, and how hard it can be to understand eachothers "languages". One example is the energy and the food sector where there is a need to cooperate to succeed in the green transition. Statkraft's core business is the production of renewable energy from hydro, wind and solar power, but Statkraft does not want to limit itself to being a power producer. The greenhouse gas emissions from the industry sector need to be reduced quickly. By developing hydrogen production facilities, Statkraft could offer solutions that could help the needed industrial transition around the globe. Hydrogen based on natural gas, often referred to as 'grey hydrogen', is widely used in ammonia production. Ammonia is an important ingredient in fertilizer production. So, if grey hydrogen could be replaced with green hydrogen you could have green fertilizers production – which will make food chains more sustainable. #statkraft #sustainablefoodchain #greentransition
Excited to be at the European Hydrogen Week in Brussels this week! At Statkraft, we are now preparing to offer green hydrogen. It has the potential to replace fossil fuels in long-haul and heavy-duty transport, and to produce green chemicals and metals, playing a key role in decarbonizing our energy systems. Being present in Brussels this week has been impactful, allowing us to interact with key stakeholders and share insights on the importance of green hydrogen. A big shoutout to the Statkraft hydrogen team for their relentless efforts and dedication. Together, we are optimistic about the further development and scaling up of green hydrogen projects. #GreenHydrogen #SustainableEnergy #EuropeanHydrogenWeek #Statkraft #RenewableEnergy #Decarbonization

🌍 Hydrogen and Electrolysers Win Big in EU's €4.8bn Innovation Fund Push 🚀 With the EU backing hydrogen and electrolyser projects through a €4.8bn Innovation Fund, we're witnessing a monumental leap forward in our journey towards a climate-neutral future. 🌱 This massive funding support spans 85 Net Zero projects, with six revolutionary clean hydrogen production projects and eight electrolyser manufacturers leading the charge. Key projects in Belgium, Germany, France, Finland, and Sweden highlight the EU's commitment to clean energy and reduced emissions. From Belgium's H2BE and Hydrogen Offshore Dunkerque in France to Finland's HydroGreen, these initiatives are set to produce 61,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually. On the electrolyser front, Norwegian-based Nel, Denmark's HydrogenPro, and Netherlands' Battolyser Systems are among the winners, enhancing the production of next-generation electrolysers. This push underscores the EU ETS's role in driving innovation and competitive, sustainable energy solutions. #HydrogenFuture #CleanEnergy #InnovationFund 🏭
