Interesting idea to have two layers medially. Do you close synovium separately from tendon? I have been doing my knees for the last year or so using a curved lateral incision. But not so curved proximally. I start midline proximally, curve around lateral aspect of patella and curve toward tuberosity distally. Good technique.

To prevent postop seroma, we stich systematically with one knot the fascia superficialis to the patella. Concerning the arthrotomy closure is made in 2 layers with stratafix

Laparotomy sponges/swabs are an excellent way to atraumatically dissect for knees and hips. Do you do anything special for closing that flap to prevent. Postoperative seroma?
